Da Nang works with ADB on key infrastructure projects

At the meeting, the two sides discussed three key infrastructure projects in the city: urban underground space planning, international airport and railway station.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Quang Nam said that Da Nang has been implementing the construction of many underground works such as: burying cable lines, building rainwater drainage systems, wastewater, water supply, information, power supply, etc.

However, the underground works that have been invested and are being planned are still localized and isolated, mainly serving certain purposes, without connection or linkage between underground works.

Therefore, urban underground space planning will be an important priority that the city will promote. Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Quang Nam requested the Department of Construction to promptly provide full information on underground space planning to ADB, especially on capital issues, similar to the international airport and railway station projects.

For investment projects in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), based on Decision No. 1287/QD-TTg dated November 2, 2023 of the Prime Minister on approving the planning of Da Nang city for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the Department of Finance shall promptly propose a list of key projects to be implemented until 2030 and provide it to ADB within the city's authority.

Representatives of the ADB delegation assessed that Da Nang is a dynamic city with many advantages in developing a smart city and an innovative startup city.

In the immediate future, Da Nang and ADB will continue to concretize the memorandum of cooperation between the two sides on January 26, 2024 on the goal of sustainable and comprehensive socio -economic development of Da Nang and effectively implement the Da Nang planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, through programs and projects supported by ADB.
