Promoting the strength of the entire people in the movement to build a drug-free Lang ward

HNP - On the morning of November 6, the People's Committee of Lang Ward held a Conference to deploy the Resolution on building Lang Ward into a drug-free ward by 2025 and the Program of signing coordination between the Ward Police and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Ward.

At the conference, Chairman of Lang Ward People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Tung emphasized that this is an activity of profound political significance, demonstrating the high determination of the entire political system of the ward - from the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to departments, branches, organizations and people in the fight against drugs, protecting security and order, maintaining a peaceful and happy life for the community.

Under the close direction of the City Party Committee, People's Committee and Hanoi City Police, in recent times, the work of preventing and combating drug abuse in Lang Ward has achieved many positive results. The Ward Police force has proactively grasped the situation, synchronously deployed professional measures, strengthened coordination with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations to promote propaganda and mobilize people to participate in the movement "All people protect national security".

Many self-management models of security and order such as "Self-managed inter-family groups", "Safe residential groups", "Cultural families", "Schools and agencies for security and order" have been maintained and promoted effectively, contributing significantly to preventing and repelling drug abuse and illegal acts. However, the situation of crime and drug abuse is still complicated, especially the emergence of new synthetic drugs, along with the forms of enticing young people to use drugs disguised through products such as "laughing gas", "American weed", "paper stamps", "happy water"...

Faced with that reality, the People's Committee of Lang Ward determined the key task of 2025 to build a "Drug-free Ward". This is not only the goal of the year, but also an important step, contributing to the effective implementation of the National Strategy for Drug Prevention, Control and Control by 2030.

The conference was also an occasion to launch a movement to compete for the entire population to participate in building a drug-free Lang ward by 2025, and at the same time organize a signing ceremony of the Coordination Program between the Ward Police and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang ward for the period 2025-2030. The program aims to mobilize the combined strength of the entire political system and the great solidarity of the entire people in the work of ensuring security, order and fighting against social evils in the area.

According to the content of the cooperation program, the two sides will focus on innovating and diversifying forms of propaganda and mobilizing people to strictly comply with the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws; actively participate in crime prevention and control, especially drug crimes and evils. Along with that, localities continue to build and replicate models of "Self-managed residential groups", "Safe residential areas", "Drug-free agencies, schools and enterprises"; promote the role of religious dignitaries, prestigious people in the community, political and social organizations in propaganda, mobilization, supervision and social criticism, contributing to consolidating a solid "people's hearts and minds position".

At the same time, the Covenant to build "Lang Ward without drugs" also sets out specific goals and requirements: 100% of residential groups have no drug addicts; no complicated drug hotspots or gathering places; no drug-related crimes; all households sign a commitment to have no drug law violators. This is considered a strong political commitment, affirming the determination of all cadres, party members and people of Lang Ward to join hands in building a safe, civilized and drug-free community.
