Developing transport infrastructure in Khoai Chau district

Khoai Chau district currently has over 1,700 km of all types of road traffic, including 6.8 km of national highway; the route connecting Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway with Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway through the district is 3.1 km long; 68.8 km of provincial roads; 45.5 km of district roads; the rest are commune, village, hamlet and intra-field roads.

In addition to the central and provincial budget, with its own resources, in recent years, the district has invested in many important traffic projects to attract investment, promote trade, contribute to socio -economic development, and improve people's lives. In particular, from 2016 to present, the district has completed the renovation and upgrading of district roads to a road width of 5.5m or more. Currently, the district is accelerating the implementation of a number of key traffic routes connecting the district internally and externally according to the approved planning such as: Project to renovate and upgrade DH.57; Project to build the main road of the concentrated production, business and service area in Tan Dan and Ong Dinh communes; Project to build a road connecting DH.57 with DT.384 through Dan Tien commune... In which, the project to build Kenh Dong road, the section from DH.57 to DT.384 has a total length of 2.2km, an investment of 160 billion VND, and started construction in December 2024. To date, the project has completed nearly 30% of the work volume.

Comrade Chu Anh Tuan, Director of the Khoai Chau District Construction Investment Project Management Board, said: In recent times, the Khoai Chau District Construction Investment Project Management Board has coordinated with departments, branches, functional offices of the district and communes and towns to speed up the implementation of important traffic projects invested by the District People's Committee. Many projects are expected to be completed and put into use soon. The investment and putting into use of these important traffic routes creates favorable conditions for the district to develop its economy and attract investment in the area, exploiting the potential for industrial development, trade and services.

In fact, thanks to the good work of site clearance as well as focusing on investment in infrastructure construction, Khoai Chau district has attracted many large projects to the area such as: Clean Industrial Park, Industrial Park No. 03, Dong Khoai Chau Industrial Cluster... The whole district has attracted more than 100 investment projects and has been allocated land and leased land by the Provincial People's Committee; more than 200 projects in the 2025 land use plan have been received and are completing land procedures. The projects put into operation contribute to creating jobs for thousands of local people and increasing the district's budget revenue from corporate income tax, land rent,...

Implementing the national target program on new rural construction, communes and towns have taken advantage of the support of the State, especially resources from the people to develop rural transport infrastructure, gradually forming a transport network connecting communes and towns. With the motto "State and People work together", the People's Committee of the district and communes and towns have promoted propaganda work on the practical significance of road construction in many forms so that people know and actively participate in contributing in many different forms from cash, materials to working days and land donation for road construction.

From 2021 to present, the district has mobilized more than 410 billion VND to invest in the construction of intra-field traffic routes with an average road width of 3 to 3.5m, a total length of more than 67.4km; mobilized more than 1 trillion VND to build more than 102km of village and commune roads with an average road width of 3.5 to 5m, many commune central roads have a width of 7m; mobilized more than 1 trillion VND to build more than 34km of district roads with an average road width of 7 to 12m... Up to now, the rate of rural roads and main intra-field roads that have been hardened in Khoai Chau district has reached 100%, of which about 100km of main intra-field roads have been concreted with cement...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, a resident of Dan Tien commune, excitedly said: I am very happy with the changes in the district's transportation system. Many muddy, dusty dirt roads have been replaced by spacious, clean concrete roads. Thanks to that, people's travel is more convenient, and trading with other places is also easier.

In the coming time, Khoai Chau district will focus on mobilizing all resources from the central and local budgets, other capital sources and people's resources to develop transport infrastructure in accordance with the local socio-economic development plan, transport development plan and the national target program on new rural construction.
