Grasping the trend of agricultural development associated with experiential tourism, the 19/5 Agricultural Development Service Cooperative, Van Son Ward, has promoted the development of agricultural products supporting tourism. Mr. Mai Duc Thinh, Director of the Cooperative, said: The Cooperative has invested in an experimental garden of more than 7 hectares growing unique, high-quality fruit varieties, such as: Golden Peak Plum; early-ripening plum; late-ripening plum; early-ripening peach; milk grapes; temperate pears and jujube trees... to serve tourists to visit and experience the process of caring for and harvesting fruit. Along with that, the Cooperative has invested in building a system of accommodation facilities, organizing for groups of tourists to visit the production area. On weekends, the Cooperative welcomes thousands of visitors to visit and experience.
Coming with her family to experience grape picking at the 19/5 Agricultural Development Service Cooperative, Ms. Nguyen Bich Hong, a tourist from Hanoi, shared: Coming to Moc Chau National Tourist Area, I chose agricultural tourism to immerse myself in nature and experience the life of farmers. Coming here, I learned about the care process to create clean local agricultural products, and was able to personally pick and pick bunches of ripe fruit to enjoy and buy as gifts for relatives.
In residential group 68, Van Son ward, the ly orange garden of Mr. Ha Van Chien's family has become an attractive destination for tourists every fruit ripening season. Mr. Chien shared: To serve the needs of visitors coming to visit and take photos, I have focused on renovating the garden, creating more spots for tourists to "check in". Along with that, the orange trees are carefully cared for, following an organic direction, ensuring health safety standards. Currently, the family's ly orange garden of more than 1 hectare when the fruit season comes can welcome more than 1,000 visitors to visit and experience on weekends. After experiencing and enjoying the oranges in the garden, visitors also buy them as gifts. Thanks to that, the oranges do not have to worry about output, bringing high income for the family.
Agricultural tourism is becoming an attractive trend, giving visitors authentic experiences of agricultural life and production. This attraction comes not only from being immersed in nature, but also from the sustainable values that this tourism model brings, creating income for local people and promoting common development. Realizing this great potential, travel agencies have built and developed unique agricultural experience tours.
Mr. Tran Van Hieu, Binh An Viet Travel Company, shared: We have organized tours to bring tourists to experience farms and fruit gardens in Moc Chau National Tourist Area, enhancing the experience and creating special appeal. Not only simply sightseeing, tourists can also directly participate in plant care activities, learn about the production process; thereby, have a deeper insight into the agricultural industry and the lives of local people.
Van Son Ward currently has nearly 300 hectares of fruit trees; 840 hectares of tea; more than 230 hectares of vegetables, tubers, fruits and 11 points of agricultural tourism activities, helping farmers convert from traditional agriculture to agriculture combined with experiential tourism. Mr. Tran Quang Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee, said: Agricultural experiential tourism is a unique tourism product and a strength of Moc Chau National Tourist Area in general and Van Son Ward in particular. The model is increasingly proving its effectiveness, the ward continues to encourage and support farming households to build and create more new and attractive tourism products to attract tourists.
Orienting tourism development associated with sustainable agriculture, Van Son ward focuses on creating conditions and encouraging businesses, cooperatives and people to develop high-tech agriculture, organic agriculture, clean and safe products for consumers. Building brands for agricultural products, both bringing high economic value to farmers and increasing tourism attraction. Striving for the production value per hectare of cultivated land to reach 85 million VND by 2030; total number of tourists to reach more than 5.3 million; revenue from tourism activities to reach 3,875 billion VND.
