Developing Song Cau into a green - clean

Song Cau Town is making a general urban plan for Song Cau until 2045. This is a premise for the locality to make efforts to build and develop Song Cau into a city under the province by 2025.

45km from Tuy Hoa city, Song Cau is the economic, cultural, service center..., the northern gateway of the province. This is where the economic and social exchanges between Binh Dinh and Phu Yen provinces, connecting and supporting each other in the chain of urban axes along the South Central Coast. In 2009, Song Cau district developed into a town, a type IV urban area; by 2019, the locality became a type III urban area, directly under the province. This urban area has a natural area of 49,279 hectares, a population of about 128,000 people, including 4 inner-city wards and 10 suburban communes.

Song Cau owns more than 80km of coastline, endowed by nature with long stretches of white sand, mountains, forests, lagoons and bays; especially Xuan Dai Bay was ranked as a National Scenic Monument in 2011. Standing on the top of Gang slope looking down, Xuan Dai Bay is like a picturesque landscape painting, a land of mountains and waters imbued with green. There are many beautiful beaches such as Vung La, Vung Chao and many extremely beautiful islands such as Ong Xa Islet, Nhat Tu Son Islet, Da Mai Cape, Tai Ma Cape... In addition, Song Cau also has many tourist attractions such as: Cay Du Waterfall, Xuan Binh Lake, Cu Mong Tunnel and Pass, ancient pagodas and temples such as: Trieu Ton Pagoda, Phuoc Dien Pagoda, Ong Cop Temple, the tomb and temple of the famous person Dao Tri...

Song Cau Town People's Committee is developing a general urban planning for Song Cau until 2045. The planning scope includes the entire boundary of the town, bordered to the east by the East Sea, to the west by Dong Xuan district, to the south by Tuy An district and to the north by Binh Dinh province. The goal of the project is to exploit and promote potential advantages to build and develop the urban area in each stage, meeting new development requirements, integrating with the development of the South Central Coast region, creating momentum to promote the urbanization process and economic growth. Build and develop Song Cau with a synchronous technical and social infrastructure network, organize space and create an urban image with its own identity, ensuring sustainable development, improving people's lives better and better.

It is expected that by 2030, Song Cau urban population will be 190,000 people and by 2045, it will be 300,000 people. This urban area has 9 inner-city wards, including Xuan Dai, Xuan Phu, Xuan Thanh, Xuan Yen, Xuan Phuong, Xuan Thinh, Xuan Canh, Xuan Loc, Xuan Hai. The suburban area has 4 communes, including Xuan Binh, Xuan Lam, Xuan Tho 1 and Xuan Tho 2.

The urban structure is in the form of a chain, with many centers, a garden city, an ecological city, with 2 main branches. Of which, the National Highway 1 branch is 54km long from Xuan Tho 2 commune to Cu Mong pass tunnel, with a road width of 48-52m; the National Highway 1D branch is 14.5km long, from Binh Phu bridge to Quy Nhon city, with a road width of 30-36m. These are 2 national arterial roads, and also the main axis of the whole city. In the future, this urban area will also have a railway and the North-South expressway running through it.

Song Cau is promoting its potential advantages to build and develop urban areas in each phase, meeting new development requirements, integrating with the development of the South Central Coast region, creating momentum to promote urbanization and economic growth. This locality strives to become a provincial city by 2025, the northern gateway of Phu Yen.

More than 100 years ago, the French chose Song Cau as the capital of Phu Yen province (1899-1945). At that time, when building villas for living and relaxing in Bai Tram (Xuan Canh commune), they laid the first stones to shape this tourist and relaxing land. Today, that vision has become a reality.
