(CT) - Since the beginning of the year, Can Tho City has continued to effectively implement the plan to implement the Crop Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050 and the plan to implement the project "Sustainable development of 1 million hectares of high-quality and low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta region to 2030" in the city. Accordingly, the city has mobilized farmers to convert about 1,131 hectares of inefficient farming land to a model with higher economic efficiency. Specifically, 765 hectares have been converted to annual crops and 366 hectares have been converted to perennial crops.

The city has formed a concentrated production area with a large rice field area of ​​84,819 hectares, fruit trees over 40,000 hectares, and vegetables over 10,000 hectares. Supported the construction, inspection, and supervision of 581 codes for growing rice, fruit trees, and vegetables with a total area of ​​9,335 hectares and 25 codes for packing facilities with 16 participating enterprises. Up to now, 2,730 farming households participating in growing rice, vegetables, and fruit trees have been guided to achieve production certification according to VietGAP and Global GAP processes with an area of ​​3,897 hectares; farmers produce rice in an organic direction with a total area of ​​20,759 hectares.
