BDK.VN - On April 27, 2025, the Provincial Blind Association, Nguyen Dinh Chieu Library and the Provincial Cultural - Cinema Center jointly organized the program Developing a reading culture to serve people with disabilities in 2025. The program consisted of two parts: ceremony and festival.

Awarding prizes to the winning teams of the A and B prizes of the Grass Broom Tying Competition.

The grass broom tying competition had 6 teams participating. Each team had 2 contestants. Within 30 minutes, the teams completed 1 broom. The organizing committee awarded certificates and gifts to Nguyen Van Hau and Nguyen Chau Pha, Binh Dai district, who won the first prize. In addition, the organizing committee also awarded 1 second prize, 1 third prize and 6 consolation prizes to the teams.

The Blind Singing Festival had 9 solo performances by contestants from 9 districts and Ben Tre City. The Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to contestant Nguyen Hoang Phuoc, Chau Thanh District, with the song "The Country is Full of Joy". In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 1 second prize, 2 third prizes and 5 consolation prizes.

Ms. Le Thi Thu Van - Deputy Head of Administration - General Department, Nguyen Dinh Chieu Library guides members in reciting Van Tien poetry. Reciting Van Tien poetry is a unique form of folk performance, associated with the poem "Luc Van Tien" by the famous person Nguyen Dinh Chieu. This form not only has artistic value but also contains profoundeducational and cultural significance.

Member of the Blind Association of Ha Thien Du province introduces the autobiography “A Passion for Life” by Nguyen Ngoc Ky. This is a very good and meaningful book, recounting the journey of a person overcoming difficulties and challenges, until becoming an excellent teacher and famous writer.

  Blind people read braille books.

Nguyen Dinh Chieu Library has arranged a space to serve braille books and audio books. It attracts many blind people to read and listen to books. At the same time, there is a lively discussion about the content of the books they have read.

On this occasion, Cuse Capital Company, Saigon Tam Duc Dental Group, Tu Ton Clinic have 50 gifts to give to the aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters of the Provincial Blind Association. These are noble gestures from the benefactors, who always accompany and spread kindness in the community. Today's gift giving not only has the meaning of material support but also contains love and sharing from heart to heart.

Chairman of the Provincial Association for the Blind Nguyen Van Min expressed his honor to be able to coordinate the organization of the program Developing a reading culture to serve people with disabilities in 2025. The program's content aims to strengthen solidarity and proactively integrate blind people into the community.

The program has created conditions for the blind who cannot read printed text, cannot access works in the usual way, want to listen, see, read and use documents in braille, audio, enlarged text, e-books, sign language or other special documents. Create space and environment for disabled people to interact, participate in collective activities, competitions, experience online reading services, make online reading cards of the library... through activities to arouse the passion for reading, form reading habits and skills, contribute to the development of reading promotion for the disadvantaged that is of interest to society.
