Love Class

Learning from Uncle Ho in the spirit of constantly striving in learning, the Hoa Tien Commune Youth Union (Hoa Vang District) coordinated with schools to organize the Loving Class to accompany and support slow-learning students who have difficulties in learning. Thereby helping them consolidate their knowledge and confidently improve in their studies.

After the end of the first semester of the 2024-2025 school year, through the assessment of the learning outcomes of the schools, there are still many students who are slow to progress, have difficulty in learning, have not completed 2 subjects of Math and Vietnamese in primary school; 3 subjects of Math, Literature, English in secondary school. Faced with this situation, in February 2025, the Hoa Tien Commune Youth Union coordinated with the school principals to open the Love Class.

Hoa Tien Commune Youth Union Secretary Le Van Luu said that the class was held at 3 schools in the commune, including: Nguyen Phu Huong Secondary School, Hoa Tien Primary School No. 1 and Hoa Tien Primary School No. 2. The total number of students participating was 139, including 56 primary school students and 83 secondary school students. Volunteers participating in teaching included 24 teachers who were members of the Youth Union branches, homeroom teachers and subject teachers. Primary school students studied 3 periods/session/week; secondary school students studied 4 periods/session/week.

The curriculum includes reviewing the knowledge of the week in each subject and tutoring each student on the areas of knowledge and skills that are lacking or weak; reviewing knowledge at the end of the second semester; equipping students with learning skills that are lacking or not yet proficient, especially in English. To balance the time for main teaching and teaching the love class, teachers must use breaks and breaks to participate in teaching and supporting students.

At first, organizing the class encountered many difficulties. Students were in many different classes, so teachers had to spend a lot of time communicating with homeroom teachers to understand the learning situation of each student. The students' levels were not uniform, but teachers could only build a common curriculum, so they encountered many difficulties in tutoring. Students had failed in many parts of their knowledge over many years; their ability to memorize and concentrate was not high. With dedication, enthusiasm, patience, and using attractive teaching methods, teachers attracted students and improved the effectiveness of the lesson.

After the implementation period, the Loving Class achieved many positive results. Students attended class regularly, were relatively disciplined in their studies, and enthusiastically participated in class activities. As a result, through the Math and Vietnamese tests at the end of the second semester, 56/56 students at Hoa Tien Primary School No. 1 were eligible to complete the subject, with a 100% promotion rate. At Hoa Tien Primary School No. 2, the percentage of students completing the subject was quite high. At Nguyen Phu Huong Secondary School, the results of the mid-term test for Literature, Math, and English in grades 6 and 7 improved compared to before.

To continue to encourage students, recently, the People's Committee of Hoa Tien commune presented 30 gifts including cash and notebooks to students who have made great efforts in studying. This shows the locality's concern and encouragement for students with difficult circumstances, encouraging them to continue to strive to excel in their studies.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Tien Commune, Ho Thi Lai, said that after the end of the 2024-2025 school year, the Love Class will continue to be deployed at residential youth unions during the summer to support review and supplement knowledge for students participating in summer activities in the locality. In addition, it is recommended that associations, unions, and schools continue to create conditions to maintain the class in the following school years to accompany and support knowledge for students. Thereby, continuously spreading love and expanding the spirit of studiousness to all students, contributing to improving the qualityof education in the commune.
