The two patients, Mrs. NTH, (82 years old, Tam Quang commune, Nui Thanh) and Mrs. PTC, (84 years old, Tam Hiep commune, Nui Thanh) both suffered from serious cardiovascular diseases, especially severe aortic valve stenosis. After consulting with doctors, the family and the patients decided to choose biological aortic valve replacement surgery to improve their quality of life.

Ms. H. was admitted to the hospital with aortic valve stenosis, a history of hypertension and ischemic heart disease. Doctors successfully performed a bioprosthetic aortic valve replacement surgery on her. Similarly, Ms. C. was also admitted to the hospital and was diagnosed with severe aortic valve stenosis with complex coronary artery disease. Doctors also performed a bioprosthetic aortic valve replacement combined with coronary artery bypass grafting on Ms. C.
Both patients recovered well and were discharged from the hospital. These were two cases that were diagnosed with severe aortic valve stenosis by ultrasound.

Dr. Phan Tan Quang - Deputy Director of the Hospital shared: "Both patients above are old, have many serious underlying diseases and have been diagnosed with aortic valve stenosis for a long time, leading to complications of heart failure. Although they have been hospitalized many times for treatment, the symptoms of heart failure have gradually become more severe, and the response to medical treatment is very poor. Therefore, surgery is indicated to help improve heart function, reduce symptoms of heart failure, improve long-term prognosis as well as improve the quality of life for patients".
From 2024 to present, Quang Nam Central General Hospital has performed 48 successful open heart surgeries, bringing hope and a better quality of life to many cardiovascular patients in the region. This success shows that the hospital is increasingly becoming a trusted address in the treatment of complex cardiovascular diseases.
