Approval of the appraisal results of the environmental impact assessment report for the project to upgrade, expand and lengthen the irrigation canal system of Viet An lake.

The project is invested by the People's Committee of Que Son district, implementing the project in the communes of Que Long, Que Chau, Que Thuan, Que Phong, Dong Phu town of Que Son district and communes of Binh Lam, Que Tho of Hiep Duc district.

The project scope includes upgrading and renovating the N3-Viet An canal in the communes of Binh Lam and Que Tho (Hiep Duc district); constructing a new N3-2-1 canal in the communes of Que Phong and Que Long (Que Son district); upgrading and renovating the N1-Ho Giang canal in the communes of Que Long, Que Chau, Que Thuan and Dong Phu town (Que Son district).

The project's permanently acquired land area is about 10 hectares to build a new N3-2-1 canal and an intra-field canal. The N3-Viet An canal and the N1-Ho Giang canal are upgraded and renovated canals, so the land use area is within the current canal area.

This project is expected to upgrade 3,246m of N3 canal to ensure irrigation for 880ha of double-crop rice; build a new 3,367m of N3-2-1 canal to ensure irrigation for 380ha of double-crop rice and about 2,000m of intra-field canal. At the same time, upgrade 6,241m of N1-Ho Giang canal to ensure irrigation for 457ha of double-crop rice.
