Today, December 15, 2025 – Phenikaa University Hospital (PhenikaaMec) and Philips officially announced a strategic partnership to build a specialized medical imaging training center equipped with 31 advanced image processing tools using artificial intelligence developed by Philips. This is the first large-scale specialized medical imaging training center in Vietnam implemented in collaboration with Philips.
On this occasion, Phenikaa University Hospital inaugurated the Philips Ingenia Elition X 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging system – one of the most advanced MRI platforms currently available – providing sharp image quality, enabling doctors to make accurate diagnoses, and offering fast scanning to optimize the process.
The event was attended by the Dutch ambassador to Vietnam, leading experts, representatives of professional associations, and leaders of hospitals in Hanoi .

Representatives from PhenikaaMec and Philips successfully signed a cooperation agreement.
The AI technology ecosystem supports training and clinical practice in diagnostic imaging.
The Center for Advanced Medical Imaging Training was established with the goal of improving the quality of diagnostic imaging in Vietnam through three strategic directions: training according to international standards; transferring advanced technology; and developing high-quality medical human resources.
The center acts as a bridge between knowledge, practice, and technology, helping domestic doctors access global standards more quickly, while also contributing to addressing the shortage of specialized personnel in the field of diagnostic imaging.
In the long term, the Center aims to become a national reference point for medical imaging training and research, closely integrating clinical training, technical practice, and innovative research.
In his opening speech, Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Thanh Hoi, General Director of Phenikaa University Hospital, emphasized: "The establishment of the Advanced Medical Imaging Training Center marks an important step for PhenikaaMec in its strategy to develop diagnostic and treatment capabilities. We are committed to investing heavily in human resources and technology to provide safe and high-quality healthcare services to the community."
One of the Center's highlights is its system of 31 advanced image processing software programs integrated with artificial intelligence (AI) developed by Philips. These technologies provide in-depth support in the assessment of cardiovascular, neurological, oncological, and musculoskeletal conditions, notably the Comprehensive Cardiac Analysis solution using CT Spectrum and MRI technology, allowing for accurate assessment of complex cardiovascular diseases; the quantitative MRI solution for monitoring the progression of brain abnormalities through examinations; solutions for quantifying fat and iron levels in the liver; and solutions for quantitatively assessing the condition of cartilage and joints.
The AI ecosystem developed by Philips across a wide range of clinical fields optimizes image interpretation processes, increases work efficiency, and supports physicians in making more accurate decisions in complex cases. This is a crucial foundation for improving training quality and creating a learning environment that integrates practice and modern technology.
Chris Kim, Director of Diagnostic Imaging at Philips Asia Pacific , stated: "Philips is proud to partner with PhenikaaMec in building a state-of-the-art training center where medical imaging technology and artificial intelligence are comprehensively applied. We believe this collaboration will contribute to improving diagnostic quality and enhancing the capabilities of Vietnam's healthcare workforce."
In his speech at the opening ceremony, Mr. Kees van Baar, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Vietnam, stated: "This event is a testament to the success of economic cooperation between Vietnam and the Netherlands, specifically opening up many opportunities for cooperation between Phenikaa Group and Dutch high-tech companies, making a practical contribution to the development of Vietnam's healthcare sector."

Representatives cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Philips Ingenia Eliton X 2 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging System.
The Philips Ingenia Elition X 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging system has been put into operation.
Also within the framework of the event, Phenikaa University Hospital put into operation the Philips Ingenia Elition X 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system – a new generation MRI device that uses a strong magnetic field, fast scanning time, and the ability to reconstruct images with high resolution.
The system enables early and accurate detection of complex pathologies in the fields of neurology, cardiology, musculoskeletal disorders, and oncology; while also enhancing the patient experience by reducing noise, shortening scanning time, and increasing comfort during examinations.
This investment demonstrates PhenikaaMec's commitment to technological innovation, improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, and aiming to achieve international standards in the field of diagnostic imaging.
Phenikaa University Hospital (PHENIKAAMEC) is an internationally standardized academic healthcare system within the Phenikaa Healthcare ecosystem, invested in and developed by the Phenikaa Group. The hospital focuses on building a comprehensive healthcare model, combining treatment and training – research according to international standards.

Delegations and guests visited the Center for Advanced Medical Imaging Training.
Currently, PhenikaaMec owns 29 clinical centers and departments, including the Fetal Medicine Center, Oncology Center, Traditional Medicine Center, Obstetrics Department, Pediatrics Department, Genetics Center, Cardiovascular Center, Stem Cell Center & Tissue Bank… The hospital has a floor area of nearly 90,000 m2, a maximum capacity of over 600 beds, with a team of more than 300 professors, associate professors, doctors, and leading specialists, and more than 700 highly qualified nurses and technicians, and a service capacity of over 1,000 examinations per day.
