Session 6-11, VN-Index lost the 1,650 point mark

On the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, the total trading value reached nearly VND18,000 billion, down from more than VND20,000 billion in the previous session. In the context of weak liquidity, VIC, the stock with the highest trading value in the market, also changed hands with less than VND1,000 billion (more than VND963 billion).

Foreign investors continued to maintain a net selling trend, with a buying value of more than VND 1,872 billion and selling value of nearly VND 2,940 billion.

Foreign investors continued to be net sellers. This group bought more than 1,872 billion VND and sold nearly 2,940 billion VND.

The market opened on a positive note, with the VN-Index rising nearly 5 points at one point, to approximately 1,660 points. However, the increase did not last long, with red dominating the rest of the session.

Cautious sentiment caused most industry groups to lose points, with hardware and equipment being hit the hardest.

Notably, the banking group was the main factor pulling the market down, with 5 stocks in the top 10 stocks that reduced the VN-Index the most. VPB took away 1.32 points; followed by VCB, TCB, HDB and STB. The entire banking group had no stocks showing green.

On the contrary, VIC continued to be the code that helped the market not to fall further when contributing 1.16 points.

Industry groups that increased points in this session recorded a slight increase, at most only 0.61%.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, liquidity was also low, with a trading value of just over VND1,900 billion. At the end of the session, the HNX-Index decreased by 0.55 points (-0.21%) to 266.15 points, while the HNX30-Index remained flat at 575.73 points.
