(CT) - According to the Can Tho City Cooperative Union, from the beginning of 2025 to now, Can Tho has had 29 newly established agricultural cooperatives, bringing the total number of agricultural cooperatives in the city to 642, with a total charter capital of nearly 600 billion VND and over 20,500 members.

Officials of Can Tho City Cooperative Union visited the activities of Thoi Hung custard apple cooperative, Thoi Hung commune.

Along with consulting and disseminating legal regulations to cooperative founding groups in the agricultural sector before establishing cooperatives, the City Cooperative Union also directly supports cooperatives in carrying out procedures for registering seals, adding business lines, extending digital signatures, reporting taxes, etc. At the same time, supporting cooperatives in accessing preferential loans from commercial banks and cooperative development support funds; supporting cooperatives in participating in trade promotion fairs for the collective economic sector and cooperatives in 2025, etc. Thereby, promptly helping cooperatives grasp consumer needs and connect with consumer markets.

Looking forward, the Can Tho City Cooperative Union will continue to coordinate with sectors and levels to implement programs to support the development of collective economy and cooperatives in 2025; support agricultural cooperatives to access the Central Cooperative Development Support Fund and credit institutions to borrow preferential loans to invest in infrastructure development, apply scientific and technological advances in production and business; support agricultural cooperatives to link with enterprises to operate well the services of providing input materials and purchasing output products for members... Thereby, helping agricultural cooperatives improve the quality of their operations and develop sustainably in the new trend.
