Connecting supply and demand, expanding consumer markets
The event connecting supply and demand, promoting agricultural products of Nghe An province will last for 7 days, starting from November 6, 2025, at Central Park - Truong Vinh ward associated with a series of activities to honor 80 years of building and developing the Agriculture and Environment sector. This is one of the trade promotion events to propagate, promote, and promote the development of typical agricultural products, OCOP products with strong cultural identity of Nghe An province and of provinces and cities across the country.

Ms. Vo Thi Nhung - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment shared: This is also an opportunity for us to introduce achievements, products, and new technologies in agricultural production in Nghe An province to other provinces and visitors.
At the same time, it creates opportunities for businesses, cooperatives, and production entities inside and outside the province to trade, study, exchange experiences, and promote product and service brands to improve product quality and develop the market in the trend of international economic integration. In particular, connecting trade and exchanging experiences with Japanese enterprises, thereby finding markets for Nghe An agricultural products in Japan.
With an expected scale of 150 booths, OCOP products, typical agricultural products of Nghe An province and other provinces, products of Japanese enterprises will have the opportunity to reach a large number of customers and especially, will be known by customers near and far.

With diverse terrain, soil and climate conditions, Nghe An has a variety of agricultural products, including many typical products with high economic value. Up to now, the whole province has 743 OCOP products with 3-star rating or higher, many typical and specialty agricultural products are favored and highly appreciated by consumers.
Determining that production must go hand in hand with sustainable consumption, in recent years, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment has been transforming strongly, trade promotion activities have become increasingly systematic and effective. Trade promotion activities have been promoted, connecting production and business units of safe agricultural, forestry and fishery products, OCOP products to participate in trade promotion activities, promote products at fairs, and product booths in the province.

Supply-demand connection conferences are regularly held with the participation of corporations, distribution systems, supermarkets, food consumption chains, large domestic retailers such as Mega Market, Centrel Raitail Group, Bach Hoa Xanh, SaiGon COOPMart, Lotte, Vincommer... Since then, many key agricultural products such as Vinh oranges, lotus peanuts, mackerel, tamarind, vegetables, tubers, fruits... have signed memorandums of understanding and stable consumption contracts, ensuring output.
Financial support and facilitation of participation in major national fairs and specialties such as AgroViet, National OCOP Fair and in key provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, etc. have helped OCOP entities and businesses have the opportunity to promote and find new partners.

The province also focuses on implementing financial support policies, market information and logistics processes to help small businesses and cooperatives confidently reach out to international markets. There have been processed specialties such as Nghe An eel that have overcome technical barriers to successfully export to demanding markets such as the US and Australia, showing the great potential of Nghe An's deeply processed agricultural products.

Mr. Nguyen Van Ha - Head of the Department of Quality, Processing and Market Development said: We focus on promoting the development of traceability software, designing and providing QR codes for agricultural, forestry and fishery production facilities to strengthen management, support product branding, introduce and promote agricultural, forestry and fishery products, processed products, build consumer trust and meet the standards of "demanding" markets.
In the first 9 months of 2025, the Department provided 16 QR codes to 10 establishments, bringing the total number of codes provided to 213 for 168 establishments; supported packaging and label design and improved quality to be ready to conquer export markets.
Bringing agricultural products to the market
In the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution, Nghe An pays special attention to online distribution channels. In recent years, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has focused on supporting businesses and agricultural production facilities, OCOP products to bring goods to major e-commerce platforms such as Postmart, Voso and social networking platforms. Not only expanding the scope of consumption, bringing agricultural products to the platform also helps local agricultural products increase their accessibility to distant markets.

As one of the units under the department, supported by JICA to establish to support businesses, cooperatives and farmers to connect production and consumption of agricultural products in the domestic and export markets, in recent years, the Agricultural Market Development Forum has focused on many solutions to develop sustainable agricultural product chains, increase product value and income; promote agricultural product trade promotion between Nghe An and localities, connect producers and markets.
The unit has collected and shared information of hundreds of enterprises, cooperatives, cooperative groups and individuals producing, processing and trading agricultural products, key agricultural products, especially OCOP products of the province, with domestic and international markets; up to now, there are more than 20 establishments with over 40 OCOP products exported to Japan, Korea, European countries...

In particular, coordinate with volunteers assigned to work in Vietnam to promote and introduce Nghe An's typical products, specialties, OCOP products such as golden flower tea, soup, eel vermicelli, Shan Tuyet tea, Ky Son ginger essential oil, sticky rice wine, lotus peanuts, etc. at Japanese souvenir shops in Hanoi such as Hanoi Shouten, and at Japanese festivals in Hanoi.

The unit also coordinated with Farmer Co-op Company (Japan) to survey and collect information to implement the project of developing the value chain for Sanuki garlic in Nghe An... Information on production, business and consumption units of agricultural products and agricultural products of the province was updated, built into a database and posted on the website to provide information to sellers and buyers. From the posted information, many domestic and foreign agricultural business units have learned and contacted to connect to consume products such as ginger, hot peppers...
In the coming time, to continue promoting trade and expanding the agricultural market, the Department of Agriculture and Environment will continue to proactively seek and shape new distribution channels, especially through long-term product consumption contracts.

In addition to traditional markets, we will focus on researching and expanding export markets to countries with high requirements on quality and standards.
