Unanimously building new rural areas in Thanh Thoi An

At the weekend, party members and people in hamlets in Thanh Thoi An commune joined forces to clean up the rural environment.

Along the roads in Thanh Thoi An commune, it is easy to see colorful flower bushes, both sides of the road are swept clean, creating a bright - green - clean appearance and ensuring clear traffic visibility. This is the result of the movement "Saturday join hands to build new countryside" which has been maintained for more than a year, with the active participation of cadres, party members and people. Every weekend, everyone collects garbage, cleans the roadside, clears bushes that obscure visibility, plants flowers and trees along the road, not only beautifying the landscape but also raising awareness of compliance with traffic safety regulations in rural areas.

Mr. Hong Van Duom, Secretary of Day Huong 1 Hamlet Party Cell, said that each Party member is assigned appropriate tasks, some mobilize people to renovate their houses and landscapes; others grow flowers. Elderly Party members also actively propagate and mobilize their children and grandchildren to comply with the Party's policies and the State's laws. Thanks to that, building new rural areas is not only a political task but has become a habit and way of life of local people.

Although he is over 60 years old, Mr. Bui Van Lai, a Party member of Day Huong 1 Hamlet Party Cell, still regularly participates in cleaning and flower planting activities with the villagers in the hamlet. Mr. Lai shared: “Although I am old, I still try to work with everyone to keep the country roads clean, not letting objects obstruct the view, causing insecurity. As a Party member, I must set an example for my children and grandchildren to follow.”

From the exemplary spirit of cadres and party members, the movement to build new rural areas in Thanh Thoi An commune has spread more and more widely. Not only stopping at forming flower roads, party members have also actively promoted socialization, mobilizing people to contribute materials and labor to repair and patch damaged roads, ensuring convenient traffic.

During the period of 2023-2025, people in Thanh Thoi An commune donated more than 16,000m² of land, worth more than 4 billion VND to build important civil works such as: Commune health station, school and many rural roads. Not only that, people also actively contributed labor and funds to dredge 13 intra-field irrigation canals with a total length of 7,500m. The movement "Each hamlet has a flower road" launched by the Farmers' Association of Thanh Thoi An commune has been effectively implemented with 17 flower roads in 17 hamlets, bringing a new look to the countryside, making it more spacious and beautiful.

Mr. Tran Minh The, Deputy Head of the Economic Department of Thanh Thoi An Commune, commented: “The commune's new rural construction work has achieved many positive results thanks to promoting the combined strength of the entire political system, along with the initiative, creativity and consensus of the people. Following the achievements, the commune will continue to improve the quality of propaganda work, effectively organize emulation movements to build new rural areas in each hamlet and residential area; promote the movement for all people to join hands to build advanced new rural areas, model new rural areas. In particular, the movement "Saturday to join hands to build new rural areas" will continue to be maintained and expanded."
