'The Listener: The Whisper' wins award at 2021 Asian International Art Festival

The psychological horror film Listeners: The Whispering (titled Anh) by director Khoa Nguyen has just won 3 awards at the 2021 Asian International Arts Festival - AFAIFF.

The website of the Asia Film Art International Film Festival (AFAIFF) has just announced the list of award-winning films and artists on the evening of July 5. Oanh Kieu won the Best Actress award for her role as young writer An Nhien in the film Nguoi nghe: Loi tho tho . In addition to Oanh Kieu's official award, the AFAIFF organizing committee also awarded two additional awards - Special Mention of the jury to Quang Su (as Dr. Tuong Minh, Special Mention Actor award) and Special Mention - Feature Film for the film Nguoi nghe: Loi tho tho .

Director Khoa Nguyen's film brings together the cast of Oanh Kieu, Quang Su, Pham Quynh Anh, Quoc Cuong, Ly Hong An..., started filming in July 2020, expected to be released in March 2021 but kept changing the release date due to the Covid-19 pandemic and has not yet been released in theaters in Vietnam. The film revolves around An Nhien - a writer haunted by the image of a girl named Le Van - who is also the main character in his novel. When the work was completed, the woman from the book entered An Nhien's life and then stalked her, causing a series of horrifying events.
The Asian International Arts Festival - AFAIFF is organized by the Hong Kong Film Arts Association (HKFAA) and the Macau Film Arts Association (MFAA), aiming to inspire, motivate and award new artistic talents. 2021 is the 3rd award ceremony of AFAIFF, held in Hong Kong from June 24 to 27, attracting many participating countries such as Vietnam, Korea, China, Japan, India, Kyrgyzstan... The Organizing Committee awarded prizes for 2 categories of competing films including feature films and short films. In the feature film category, the Chinese film For Hope's Flickering Star won the best film award, the short film award went to Trust Frank by Australian director Penny Moore.
