Vice President of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor attended the Cua Lo Ward Trade Union Congress

On the afternoon of October 30, Cua Lo Ward Trade Union held the 1st Congress, term 2015-2030.

Attending the event were comrades: Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Kha Van Tam - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation; Ngo Duc Kien - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Cua Lo Ward; Representatives of relevant units and 60 delegates representing union members and workers in the whole ward.

Cua Lo Ward Trade Union was established and put into operation from the end of July 2025, with many changes in terms of gathering objects, organizational structure, functions and tasks according to the provisions of the Trade Union Law (amended). The Congress evaluated the results from the establishment to the time of the Congress and proposed directions, goals, tasks and solutions for the 2025-2030 term.

Cua Lo Ward Trade Union currently manages and directly directs 29 grassroots trade unions with a total of 1,548 union members, including 1,080 female workers. After its establishment, the Ward Trade Union quickly stabilized and achieved remarkable results in many fields.

With a focus on caring for workers, civil servants and laborers, the Ward Union has carried out many practical activities such as organizing visits and giving gifts to union members; supporting people to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3; giving gifts to union members in difficult circumstances; implementing the "Union Meal" program to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2; successfully directing the organization of democratic conferences at 6/6 non-public educational units in the 2025-2026 school year.

Although it is a new model of trade union activities, Cua Lo Ward Trade Union has quickly stabilized and established a systematic working system; issued operating regulations, clearly assigned tasks, fully participated in professional training courses; actively participated in activities organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, such as Green Sunday, storm prevention, etc.

Entering the new term with many advantages and challenges, the Cua Lo Ward Trade Union determined the core goal is to represent and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers; build a team of union officials with intelligence, courage, enthusiasm, responsibility, prestige and good working methods. At the same time, innovate propaganda and mobilization work, improve the political capacity, educational level, professional skills, industrial style, labor discipline of union members and workers; maintain close ties between the Party, the State and the working class and workers. With that goal, the Congress identified 4 breakthroughs and 9 tasks and solutions.

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development", the 1st Congress of the Cua Lo Ward Trade Union demonstrated the determination, dynamism, flexibility and creativity of all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the ward. With that spirit, the Ward Trade Union has set specific targets for the 2025-2030 term such as: Establishing 2-3 new grassroots trade unions and striving to increase the total number of union members to about 1,800-2,000 union members; At least 91% of grassroots trade unions sign Collective Labor Agreements, of which at least 40% are of type A; 100% of grassroots trade unions issue and organize the correct implementation of democratic regulations at the workplace; 100% of work is directed and operated on cyberspace...

The Congress listened to many quality presentations, shared effective methods in trade union activities, and made recommendations and suggestions to achieve the goals and tasks in the new term.

Speaking at the Congress, Secretary of the Cua Lo Ward Party Committee Ngo Duc Kien acknowledged the results that the Cua Lo Ward Trade Union has achieved in the past time. At the same time, he said that in the coming time, the Ward Trade Union needs to focus on strongly innovating its operating methods in the spirit of Resolution 02 on Innovation of the organization and operation of Vietnam Trade Unions in the new situation; Well implementing the Trade Union Law 2024, affirming its role in caring for workers. At the same time, focusing on developing union members, improving the quality of grassroots trade union activities and focusing on propaganda, mobilization, management and protection of union members in cyberspace. It is necessary to further promote the role of supervision and coordination in trade union activities.

Comrade Ngo Duc Kien believes that with the close attention of all levels of the union and the efforts of the union staff, Cua Lo Ward Union will achieve good results, contributing to building an increasingly strong union organization, contributing to the development of Cua Lo Ward.

Speaking at the Congress, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation Kha Van Tam emphasized that the Ward Union needs to focus on improving the quality of activities and staff, raising awareness, promoting and fostering qualifications and skills for union members for the common development of enterprises and the locality. In addition, it is necessary to build a truly strong Cua Lo Ward Union, make plans to develop union members and grassroots unions, especially in the informal sector, in which cadres must be inspirational and creative. The Cua Lo Ward Union must clarify its role in protecting the legitimate rights and interests and taking care of workers.

Recognizing that the ward-level trade union model is completely new and still faces many difficulties, comrade Kha Van Tam requested that the union staff must unify the viewpoint of "walking and lining up", closely following the instructions of the higher-level trade union in all activities. The head of Nghe An Trade Union also believes that Cua Lo Ward Trade Union will make many impressions and develop more strongly in the new term.

The Congress also approved the decision to appoint 9 comrades to the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Inspection Committee, and key positions of the Ward Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term. Accordingly, comrade Hoang Van Hop holds the position of Chairman of the Cua Lo Ward Trade Union.
