Accompanying him were Comrade Phung Thanh Vinh - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and leaders of units under the Department.

Up to now, Quynh Luu district has sown about 4,000 hectares of rice out of a total area of over 7,400 hectares of spring rice. The production progress is expected to ensure the proposed schedule, and the area will complete sowing before January 30. As a specialized vegetable growing area, the whole district has also sown 650 hectares out of the planned 1,600 hectares of spring vegetables. The favorable weather has helped vegetables and rice grow and develop well. Nearly 100% of the rice seedlings have been covered with plastic, so there has been no damage due to cold and there has been no shortage of seedlings as in previous years.

Visiting the northern rice planting model in Dien Lien commune, Dien Chau district, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the working delegation highly appreciated the strict compliance with technical measures by farmers. Up to now, the whole district has planted about 50% of the area and it is expected that Dien Chau district will complete spring crop production before January 28. Currently, the District Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is advising the District People's Committee to continue supporting the implementation of the campaign to kill rats by the whole people to protect spring crop production.

In Yen Thanh district, after visiting the model of using transplanters to plant in Nam Thanh commune, the working group inspected the orange production situation in Dong Thanh commune. Currently, Yen Thanh has over 340 hectares of well-developed oranges, bringing high income and value to farmers in the mountainous communes of Dong Thanh and Minh Thanh...

Reporting to the working delegation, Mr. Nguyen Van Duong - Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee informed: Implementing the policy of bringing mechanization into production, up to now in Yen Thanh district, land preparation is almost 100% done by machines, especially in recent years, various types of transplanters have been put into use more and more, helping to reduce labor pressure, shorten the sowing time, speed up the progress to meet the requirements of the season. By January 17, Yen Thanh had sown 5,500 hectares of rice out of the total area of 12,719 hectares of spring rice as planned.
This spring crop, the area of tray-planting and machine-planting in Yen Thanh has increased to about 4,500 hectares, concentrated in the communes of Tho Thanh, Nam Thanh, Minh Thanh, Van Thanh...
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the effectiveness of the model and suggested that Yen Thanh district continue to have solutions to replicate it, meeting the needs of modern and valuable agricultural production.

After inspecting the actual situation, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De directed: According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from January 20-21, the Northern and North Central regions are likely to experience a severe cold spell, with the lowest temperature in mountainous areas possibly falling below 90C , in high mountainous areas possibly falling below 20C , in some places below 00C . Therefore, the Department of Agriculture and localities need to focus on strengthening direction, guidance, and recommendations for farmers to take measures to care for and protect vegetables and rice during days of severe cold, severe cold and frost such as covering with plastic, increasing phosphorus, potassium, etc. Implement well measures to prevent and combat hunger, cold and livestock and poultry diseases according to the instructions of specialized agencies. Manage pests and diseases right from the beginning of the season, ensuring safety for crops and livestock in the area. Especially focus on killing rats to protect crops.
For orange trees, the professional agency has issued recommendations on standard care procedures, which people need to strictly follow to ensure the plants grow well and sustainably.
It is necessary to implement solutions to replicate effective and safe production models to meet the increasing demands of the market as well as to aim at building a green and clean agricultural production in line with the general trend. Strengthen linkages to help farmers improve productivity and production efficiency, creating a stable and high-value agricultural consumption market for all types of products.
