On February 4, 2024, Vietnam Oil and Gas Technical Services Corporation ( PTSC ) was honored to welcome Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and his delegation to visit and work at PTSC's manufacturing facility in Vung Tau.

Also attending were Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Yen, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Tho, along with leaders of central ministries, departments, branches, and leaders of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group.

During the working trip, the Deputy Prime Minister visited PTSC's 200-hectare manufacturing site, listened to an introduction to PTSC's history, core service types, reported on production and business results in 2023 as well as updated on the current status of the renewable energy industry in Vietnam, the region and the world .

PTSC leaders report to the Deputy Prime Minister on the renewable energy projects being implemented at the construction site.

Through international bidding and winning a series of manufacturing contracts for renewable energy projects in Taiwan and Europe with a total value of up to 1.5 billion USD, especially these projects are all implemented entirely in Vietnam, by Vietnamese people and exported abroad, PTSC is the first Vietnamese enterprise to put the country's name on the world renewable energy supply chain map. With efforts and attempts in 2023, PTSC has secured contracts to ensure jobs until 2027 for workers. To implement these contracts for renewable energy projects, PTSC is promoting the rearrangement of infrastructure, investing in new equipment, and leveling existing landfill areas to enhance capacity, improve productivity, and manufacturing capacity towards mass production.

In addition, with the success of becoming the first Vietnamese enterprise in the country to be granted a license for marine survey, PTSC is also coordinating with partners to carry out related work to conduct surveys, develop investment plans and develop a GHG farm in Vietnam to export clean electricity to Singapore with the expectation of commercial power generation in 2032-2033.

Despite achieving certain successes when initially participating in the field of renewable energy, PTSC also realized that the global supply chain is facing many problems, notably the problem of capital due to rising interest rates, high costs and supply chain disruption while market demand is increasing sharply. Facing these difficulties, PTSC has clearly identified the need to become an important and indispensable link in the entire supply chain and to do this, building and developing a renewable energy industrial center in Vietnam is very necessary. That is also the goal that PTSC is aiming for.

Deputy Prime Minister gives encouraging speech to workers at construction site

Listening to PTSC's report, the Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the contributions of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group in general and PTSC in particular in the recent past to the country's strong transformation. The oil and gas service industry with PTSC as the core unit has taken pioneering steps, not only relying on resource exploitation, but also exploring key points, relying on human resources to bring out high values and affirm the prestige of the Vietnam Oil and Gas industry on the world map. PTSC's participation in the field of renewable energy, with systematic scientific and technological research steps, is the right step in the context of the world searching for new energy sources.

Deputy Prime Minister gave a speech at the meeting

Regarding PTSC's proposal to build a renewable energy industrial center in Vietnam, specifically in Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province, the Deputy Prime Minister recognized that this is the right direction to participate in developing renewable energy projects in the context that countries around the world are making changes to replace fossil fuels, reduce emissions, greenhouse effects as well as in accordance with Power Plan 8, Resolution 55 and requested the leaders of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province to support this idea, study the plan and propose to relevant levels.

Regarding the GHG project to export clean electricity to Singapore, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the Government will include this project in the pilot project to develop GHG in Vietnam, selling electricity directly abroad. The project has a lot of work to do from survey, electricity production license, electricity sale license, electricity purchase contract, working with Singaporean partners... Therefore, the Deputy Prime Minister requested PTSC to develop a roadmap and specific implementation plan to have reports and proposals to the State Steering Committee on important national programs, works, and projects, key to the energy sector in the soonest time.
