Deputy Prime Minister proposed that the Ministry of Education innovate the model of specialized high schools.

(Dan Tri) - Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long requested the Ministry of Education and Training to study solutions to innovate the model of specialized high schools in a broad direction, creating a foundation for this school system to develop.

Speaking at the ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the General Education School's tradition and the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Natural Science High School (Hanoi National University), Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long said that our country is facing opportunities but also many difficulties and challenges.

The remarkable advances in science and technology have had and are having a profound impact on all areas of social life.

In that context, training high-quality human resources is identified as one of three strategic breakthroughs, a key factor determining the future development of the country.

On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Education and Training , Hanoi National University, and the University of Natural Sciences to research and find solutions to innovate the model of specialized high schools in a broad direction, creating a foundation for the system of specialized high schools to develop.

The Deputy Prime Minister also requested research units to develop projects to discover, train and nurture young Vietnamese talents; and nurture and train talents from high school to doctoral levels.

At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister also requested to prioritize investment of resources and adequate funding to upgrade facilities, learning equipment, laboratories, and functional room systems for the High School for Natural Sciences; and to have appropriate mechanisms and policies for teachers and students who have achieved outstanding results.

With the foundation of the quintessence of the previous specialized comprehensive blocks, the Deputy Prime Minister gave 5 instructions to the High School for Natural Sciences (Hanoi National University).

Firstly , schools need to strongly innovate their educational model in a broad and deep direction, creating conditions for many students to access high-quality education and nurturing especially excellent students.

Second, flexibly integrate parallel activities to educate about patriotism, pride, history, and culture of the nation; have high responsibility to the community, be ready to contribute, innovate, dare to think, dare to do in the face of new challenges.

Third, continue to diversify talent incubation activities through scientific research, innovation, sports and arts activities, career orientation, and focus on personality education for students.

Fourth , teachers continue to promote tradition, always keep the flame of love for the profession, create a good environment for students to study and practice on the journey to maturity and conquer the peak.

Fifth, with pride, students should try hard, study and practice diligently, prepare to become scientists, engineers, etc., contributing to the development of the country in the new era.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Minh Son, Director of Hanoi National University, said that there will be outstanding support mechanisms and policies for specialized high schools under universities, considering this a key task to nurture and develop national talent resources in many fields.

In addition, Hanoi National University will have a long-term, strategic investment policy for specialized high schools under universities, linked to the national strategy on developing high-quality human resources, especially in the fields of technology, artificial intelligence and innovation.

On September 14, 1965, the first specialized math class with 38 students of Hanoi University of Science was established in Thai Nguyen. Currently, the school has developed with 5 specialized blocks, more than 1,800 students.

Also this morning, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long awarded the Second Class Labor Medal to the High School for Natural Sciences; the First Class Labor Medal to the Physics Department and the Third Class Labor Medal to the Mathematics Department.
