On the afternoon of November 19, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung had an urgent meeting with the People's Committee of Dak Lak province on response to the exceptionally large flood that is causing very serious damage in the eastern region of the province.
Attending the meeting were leaders of central agencies and key leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Dak Lak province.
Reporting at the meeting, Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee Ta Anh Tuan said that this flood caused widespread flooding, especially serious in Dong Xuan and Tuy An district (old).

Floods have surpassed the historic peak of 1993, leaving many areas completely isolated. Many areas are flooded with strong currents and deep water, making it difficult for rescue vehicles to access.
Currently, the police, army and local authorities have deployed to evacuate people to flood shelters, while maximally activating the "four on-site" motto.
Police in communes and wards used canoes, boats, and basket boats for rescue operations. In particular, the province mobilized two large canoes launched on the Ba and Ky Lo rivers to support deeply flooded areas...

Dak Lak Provincial Military Command also mobilized all canoes and rescue boats; Military Region 5 increased forces to approach dangerous areas.
However, in many communes such as Dong Xuan, Tuy An Bac, Tuy An Dong, O Loan, the water is flowing fast and is too deep for vehicles to access, especially 135 people from 40 households in Dong Xuan commune are trapped.

Speaking at the working session, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung acknowledged the efforts of Dak Lak province's forces in responding to and preventing natural disasters .
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized: This flood is beyond forecast, higher than any historical milestone, developing quickly and dangerously, so the province is required to prioritize people rescue work as the number 1 priority.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested the province to mobilize all forces, closely coordinate with Military Region 5 to find every way to approach and rescue people at all costs, and strive to approach and bring all trapped people to safety by the afternoon of November 19.
The police force must set up checkpoints at deeply flooded and landslide-prone areas, absolutely not allowing people and vehicles to risk traveling; maximize rescue vehicles, immediately transfer them to deeply flooded and isolated areas; ensure adequate food and drinking water, especially dry rations for people in evacuation areas, to prevent hunger and water shortages; maintain smooth communication in all situations...
Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung said: The Government continues to send reinforcements from the south; if weather permits, it will mobilize helicopters from Military Region 5 to search and rescue people at isolated locations.

Forces of Military Region 5 will be on duty in the eastern region until the flood recedes completely, ensuring the fastest and most effective rescue plan.
