According to Dien Bien province's report, in the first 9 months, the province's economic growth reached 6.76%, ranking 7th out of 9 provinces in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region. Total state budget revenue is estimated at over 1,589 billion VND, exceeding 24.6% of the central government's estimate.

Dien Bien needs to strengthen the construction of tourist "destinations"
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasized that Dien Bien has a strategic position, located in a remote border area, with a long border (more than 400 km), "large land, sparse population", and difficult terrain, so socio-economic development faces many challenges and requires high investment rates.
Sharing the difficulties of the province, the Deputy Prime Minister said that in recent times, the province has made every effort, from promoting growth, budget collection to social security development indicators. The province strives to exceed budget collection by about 25%. There are a number of projects and tasks assigned by the Government such as eliminating temporary houses and dilapidated houses that have been 100% completed. The province has 9 inter-level boarding schools in border communes that will start construction this November.
Appreciating the results achieved in implementing the two-level local government of Dien Bien, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long said that the province needs to "continue to review any remaining difficulties and problems such as administrative procedures, headquarters arrangement, etc., and continue to resolve them, especially in remote areas."
Regarding the future direction, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long stated that superiors have assigned targets with specific numbers, and evaluated them with quantifiable results, so "comrades need to try harder."

In socio-economic development, the Deputy Prime Minister shared and emphasized some "keywords" for Dien Bien, which is "thinking". "The human factor is number one", the Deputy Prime Minister noted. When we want something, we often try to come up with solutions, but if we don't want it, we often find the cause. The second is "passion", without passion, it is difficult to complete the job. And another important thing is solidarity, building good working relationships. "The leaders join hands for the development of Dien Bien, building a specific growth scenario for the remaining months of 2025 and 2026, the following years", the Deputy Prime Minister stated.
The Deputy Prime Minister also said that the province has the basis to turn tourism into a spearhead economic sector, and at the same time must find practical and feasible solutions and methods, with things that can be done immediately. It is necessary to pay attention to building "destinations", "coming here without hotels, without places to visit, it is difficult to attract tourists". Accordingly, the province needs to have policies to encourage and create conditions for businesses to invest in this field, as well as encourage airlines to open more flights to Dien Bien.

"For any unfinished tasks, you must remind and urge them to complete them. When the leaders have conclusions, they must seriously implement them. If they cannot do it, you must explain the reasons and report back."
