Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha commends Ha Tinh for site clearance of 500kV power line project

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized that when the project started, Ha Tinh was one of the localities with a large amount of work but soon completed 100% site clearance for column foundations.

On the morning of February 17, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and the working delegation inspected the 500kV transmission line project, circuit 3, Quang Trach - Quynh Luu, section through Ha Tinh.

Accompanying the delegation were Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang, and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh.

On the side of Ha Tinh province, there were Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Trung Dung, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha; leaders of relevant sectors and localities.

The foundation of column 175 is one of the tallest columns of the line (along with columns 135, 136) with a height of 145 m, weight of 426 tons; foundation steel of 109.9 tons. Currently, the construction unit is mobilizing many machines and equipment to level the ground, the estimated volume is about 7,000 ^m3 (about 70% of the volume). The project is expected to be completed before June 30, 2024.

The 500kV line project, circuit 3, Quang Trach - Quynh Luu, section through Ha Tinh, part of the 500kV line system, circuit 3, Quang Trach - Pho Noi, was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 500/QD-TTg dated May 15, 2023 of the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050 (Power Plan VIII).

The power line passing through Ha Tinh is about 141.52km, with 285 locations, located in 9 districts/towns: Ky Anh town (26.26km, 52 locations), Ky Anh district (23.59km, 51 locations), Cam Xuyen district (30.46km, 62 locations), Thach Ha district (13.7km, 28 locations), Huong Khe district (20.22km, 35 locations), Can Loc district (2.74km, 5 locations), Vu Quang district (4.2km, 8 locations), Duc Tho district (15.35km, 33 locations) and Huong Son district (5.02km, 11 foundation locations).

The project passing through Ha Tinh province started construction on January 18, 2024. Currently, contractors are simultaneously constructing 93/285 foundation locations.

Column foundation at position 175 is one of the highest columns of the line.

Regarding the results of site clearance work, by February 7, 2024, Ha Tinh localities had handed over 100% of the column foundation locations, ensuring the project's progress. Currently, localities are implementing the next steps, striving to complete and hand over 100% of the route corridor (140.8km) in March 2024.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that when the project started, Ha Tinh was one of the localities with a large amount of work, but up to now, the overall progress of the project in Ha Tinh has been ensured; 100% of the column foundation positions have been handed over since February 7. Through this, it affirms an important lesson: Any difficulty can be solved with the attention and close direction of the Prime Minister and central ministries and branches, the drastic participation of the province and localities, especially the consensus and support of the people.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested investors, localities, and construction contractors to continue to closely follow the Prime Minister's motto and direction: "Only work, no retreat, overcome the sun and rain, eat and sleep quickly, work in 3 shifts, 4 shifts, work through holidays and Tet"; investors must rely on localities, coordinate the use of local materials, local workers, apply modern technology and equipment, mobilize all forces to ensure project progress.

"The 500kV Quang Trach - Quynh Luu line is an important project, the lifeblood of the country, therefore, units and localities need to focus on implementation to ensure both progress and safety, quality of the project; ensure aesthetics and environment, pay attention to the work of returning the site after construction, ensure to maintain forest cover at the projects..." - the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha presents gifts from the Prime Minister to cadres, workers and laborers at the construction site.

The 500 kV line 3, Quang Trach - Pho Noi, has a total length of about 519 km, starting at Quang Trach Power Center (Quang Binh), ending at Pho Noi 500 kV Transformer Station (Hung Yen), passing through 211 communes and wards of 43 districts and towns in 9 provinces: Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Hai Duong and Hung Yen. The project consists of 4 component projects with 1,179 foundations and columns, with a total investment of about 22,356 billion VND. This is a key project of urgent importance to national energy security, especially for the Northern region. According to the approved Power Plan 8, the investment demand for upgrading power grid infrastructure is expected to be about 11% of the total capital demand of the electricity industry in the 2021 - 2030 period, equivalent to about 1.48 billion USD per year, and 7% in the 2031 - 2050 period, equivalent to about 1.74 billion USD per year. The completion of the Quang Trach - Pho Noi 3 Circuit Project will help improve the power transmission capacity to the North, expected to increase the power transmission capacity from the Central region to the North from 2,200 MW to 5,000 MW, contributing to the goal of providing enough electricity for the needs of this region in the coming period, thereby ensuring the national power supply and transmission in 2024 and the coming time.
