On April 13, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed an Official Dispatch on focusing on overcoming the consequences of forest fires in Dai Yen Ward, Ha Long City and Binh Lieu Town, Binh Lieu District, Quang Ninh Province; continuing to proactively, resolutely, synchronously and effectively deploy solutions on forest fire prevention and fighting.
According to the dispatch, from the night of April 12 to the morning of April 13, two forest fires occurred in Dai Yen Ward, Ha Long City and Binh Lieu Town, Binh Lieu District. Initial information shows that over 40 hectares of forest were damaged, and so far, the fires have been basically extinguished.
On behalf of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha sent his regards, encouragement and commendation to the military, police, forest rangers, militia and people for their prompt coordination and overnight efforts to promptly deploy firefighting operations, quickly controlling and extinguishing the fire. At the same time, he shared the difficulties of households affected by forest fires.
"Recently, forest fires have occurred in some localities such as Ha Giang, Son La, Tuyen Quang, Kien Giang... Authorities are warning of level 5 forest fires in many places in the Northern, Central and Southern regions. According to the assessment of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the coming time, temperatures in the Northern and Central regions will increase rapidly, causing widespread heat waves, and the risk of forest fires can occur at any time" - the dispatch stated.
To strengthen forest fire prevention and fighting, and minimize damage caused by forest fires, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee to continue directing the quick overcoming of the consequences of the two forest fires in Ha Long city and Binh Lieu district;
The Deputy Prime Minister also requested to investigate the cause and strictly handle cases of intentional violations of the law on forest fire prevention and fighting, overcoming the consequences of forest fires and restoring burned forest areas.
Provinces and cities need to be more proactive and determined to focus on leading, directing, and organizing the implementation of forest fire prevention and fighting, and overcoming the consequences of forest fires according to the 4-on-the-spot motto, with a proactive and timely spirit, minimizing the damage caused by forest fires.
The Ministries of National Defense and Public Security direct forces stationed in the area to proactively review, update, and complete coordination plans between armed forces and local forces in forest fire prevention and fighting; proactively develop plans to provide the highest level of support for forest fire fighting in the stationed area, and be ready to mobilize forces, vehicles, and equipment to participate in forest fire fighting when requested by the locality.
The Deputy Prime Minister also requested the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to proactively direct the work of forecasting, warning, and organizing forest fire prevention and control nationwide, focusing on directing the implementation of a number of key and urgent tasks such as: Closely monitoring weather developments, maintaining forecasts and warnings of forest fire risks, promptly informing localities to proactively implement forest fire prevention and control plans, mass media for communication and communication channels for direction and management; Strengthening the direction and inspection of forest fire prevention and control work in localities, especially key areas of forest fires...
