Unique “family members”
Not long ago, a young mother named Y (34 years old) living in Hanoi shared that the three most effective tools to help her take care of her family are an automatic vacuum cleaner, a clothes dryer and an automatic dishwasher. It is known that Ms. Y's job is quite busy, she does affiliate marketing with a number of social networking sites. Her children are of school age. Her life is busy, her finances are not enough to hire a full-time housekeeper to support. Therefore, she chose to use a few modern technological items to reduce the time spent doing housework.
Thanks to the robot vacuum cleaner, clothes dryer, and automatic dishwasher, she saves half of her housework time. The house is cleaner, tidier, and more convenient. In her free time, she can rest, take care of her children, or go out to visit relatives and friends.
In fact, in modern times, women, like men, have to work and face the pressures of life and economy. The division of housework in the family is becoming "stressful", even directly affecting the happiness of young couples.
To maintain “harmony” in the family, many young couples have now applied technology to their lives to help with housework. For example, smart robots that vacuum, mop, and fold clothes have been “admitted” to become new members of families. Along with the supporting robot jobs, there are automated machines. Such as dishwashers, vacuum cleaners, dehumidifiers, watering machines, lighting systems, air conditioners, and heating systems are gradually becoming automated. With just a phone, a timer setting according to the homeowner’s wishes, the machines will automatically operate on time, according to the pre-algorithmized amount.
Balance life, avoid abusing modern technology
Currently, technology and information technology companies are making efforts to produce unique, intelligent robot products to support families. Apple has been researching self-driving robots. Or in early 2024, an AI-based home robot developed by a research team at Stanford University attracted everyone's attention after a video of the robot cooking a three-course meal went viral. Recently, technology and electronics companies have been researching "AI butlers", artificial intelligence that helps homeowners manage their lives, plan, protect, and warn of dangers to their families, etc.
It can be seen that in Vietnam, home technology machines are being ordered regularly by customers. A famous Japanese robot vacuum cleaner company has evaluated Vietnam as a potential market, with purchases up to 250%, showing the need to support family work of couples in our country.
However, modern technology, automation, and AI application also have two sides. The advantage is that it helps owners optimize their time, limit conflicts in the family about the division of household chores, and give people more rest and relaxation. On the other hand, some developed countries in the world are facing the risk of dependence on modern technology machines.
For example, in Japan, many young people have lost their connection with their community, family, and friends. They choose robots as their relatives, to talk to and confide in. Instead of living in a lively world between people, they choose to be with machines to find comfort, convenience, and ease.
In addition, many scientific studies have shown that doing housework helps people become healthier and more agile. An in-depth study from Sweden provides evidence to prove this. The study was conducted over a period of about 12 and a half years and focused on seniors aged 60 and older. The results showed that people who regularly participate in outdoor chores and cleaning activities will reduce their risk of heart attack or stroke by 30%.
Research from Florida State University (USA) shows that washing dishes can help calm the mind and reduce feelings of stress. Because when washing dishes, people have to focus on what they are doing instead of just rushing to finish. Study participants who practiced this type of mindfulness not only reduced stress but also increased their mental inspiration after completing the task.
