Vital conditions for protecting national independence and economic development

Stabilizing the political regime is a special form of social movement - movement in order and discipline, ensuring that the structures and functions that constitute the nature of the political regime are maintained and strengthened, not leading to disorder or instability. Political stability is a component of the country's sustainable development.

On the contrary, political instability can threaten the interests of all members of society as well as the country's development potential in the present and the future. Historical experience shows that economic instability can be overcome through short-term or medium-term planning, while overcoming political instability is much more difficult, requiring not only a longer time and greater resources but also having to deal with extremely complex political, economic, cultural and social issues.

Behind political instability is the breakdown of social solidarity, even political forces and social classes are caught up in conflicts and wars, wasting national resources, dividing people's hearts, dividing the country, foreign forces taking the opportunity to intervene, affecting national independence and sovereignty , the country not only misses development opportunities but also faces many risks. Most of the conflicts that have devastated countries in recent years have originated from domestic political instability. Among them, there are conflicts that have lasted for many years, with no end in sight.

When investing in any country, especially large, long-term investments, investors must thoroughly understand the political, economic, cultural, religious, and demographic environment of that country. Any risk of political instability must be detected early by investors, so that they can take countermeasures or choose another country to invest in. Because political instability can easily lead to economic and social instability, causing great risks for investors. In fact, in major protests around the world, protesters are willing to attack and destroy production and business facilities, causing damage to businesses. Investing in a country with an unstable political environment is like throwing money into a gamble where investors are almost certain to lose.

Having gone through many years of painful war, the country was divided and devastated, the Vietnamese people clearly understand the value of peace, independence, unity, the value of political stability to develop the country, bringing a peaceful life. For Vietnam, political stability is a vital condition to protect national independence, respond to internal and external challenges. Protecting the Fatherland has the basic content of protecting the socialist regime, maintaining political stability.

In recent years, the world situation has been volatile with the fires of war, conflicts, geopolitical tensions between countries around the world, many unstable countries with ethnic and religious hotspots... causing concern for investors, but Vietnam has great attraction thanks to always maintaining political stability, macroeconomic stability, having a prime location in trade and having the right foreign policy, opening up many opportunities for economic cooperation. According to data from the Foreign Investment Agency (Ministry of Planning and Investment), in the first quarter of 2024, there was more than 6.17 billion USD of foreign investment registered in Vietnam, an increase of 13.4% over the same period in 2023. Of which, newly registered capital reached more than 4.77 billion USD, an increase of 57.9% over the same period in 2023. Therefore, political stability is an important achievement from the leadership of our Party.

Political stability because the Party has high prestige with the people

So what is the reason for our country's political stability over the past years?

It can be said that Vietnam has always maintained political stability, the Communist Party of Vietnam has maintained its position as the leader of the State and society, precisely because the Party has an almost absolute prestige with the people. The Party's morality and wisdom have been demonstrated by the Party's talented leadership over the past 94 years, in the struggles for national independence, national unification and economic development. Because of their trust and love for the Party, the Vietnamese people always follow the Party, no matter how challenging, arduous or difficult, they are not discouraged. The Party's leadership has no other goal than the noble goal of striving to make our country a developed country with a high income, on par with the world powers, with a prosperous and happy people.

Also because of the people's trust in the Party's leadership, although hostile forces, reactionaries, and political opportunists always seek every plot and trick to distort and defame, conduct activities to sabotage the great national unity bloc, divide the relationship between the people and the Party and the State, cause political instability, social instability, and attempt to change the political regime in our country, these plots have all failed.

Political stability is also achieved because our Party always upholds the spirit of solidarity, national solidarity and solidarity within the Party. The entire political system, society and people unite around the Party to form a solid bloc. All classes, strata, forces and components clearly understand their own value, thereby contributing to the common value and common goal.

In his Testament, President Ho Chi Minh affirmed: “Thanks to close solidarity, wholeheartedly serving the working class, serving the people, serving the Fatherland, since its founding, our Party has united, organized and led our people to enthusiastically fight, moving from one victory to another”. He advised: “Solidarity is an extremely precious tradition of the Party and of our people. Comrades from the Central Committee to the Party cells need to preserve the solidarity and unanimity of the Party as if preserving the apple of their eye”.

Cadres and party members need to be exemplary and wipe out individualism.

In recent years, under the leadership of the Party, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, we have resolutely carried out the fight against corruption and negativity to eliminate signs of degradation, purify the Party and the State apparatus to maintain people's trust, and improve the investment and business environment. That fight has been supported by the majority of the people and international public opinion and has brought about very positive results. However, in recent times, concerns have also arisen in society about "hitting the mouse and breaking the vase" when the fight against corruption and negativity is carried out resolutely, "with no forbidden areas, no exceptions, regardless of who the person is".

Hostile forces are increasingly spreading distorted information that: "The fight against corruption and negativity in recent times is nothing more than a power struggle within the Party", they spread baseless speculations and inferences that in the near future, more leaders A, leaders B will be punished... in order to cause confusion among the people. Then they make absurd conclusions that "many high-ranking leaders of the Party have been disciplined, caught up in the law due to corruption and negativity, proving that the Party has systemic errors that cannot be overcome". From there, they call for "only a change of regime in Vietnam can solve the problem at its root".

Unfortunately, there are cadres, party members and people who have believed in those false arguments. There are people who have expressed pessimism and worry about the survival of our regime. There are also people who, out of curiosity, want to update "hot" information, "hidden palace stories", "royal secrets" but cannot find such information in the mainstream press, so they go on social networks to "watch" and have unwittingly fallen into the trap of bad guys and hostile forces.

Therefore, cadres and party members need to be extremely alert. Firstly, it is necessary to clearly see the outstanding achievements of Vietnam in all fields, along with the very high international prestige of our country in recent years, thereby understanding the value and leadership role of the Party in the current situation, popularizing and spreading it to the masses. Secondly, it is necessary to realize the important significance of the fight against corruption and negativity for the sustainability of the Party and the country, thereby being more persistent, determined and confident in actively participating in this fight. Thirdly, cadres and party members need to be exemplary, eliminate individualism, and improve revolutionary ethics in performing their duties. It is necessary to eliminate all manifestations of corruption, negativity and waste.

It is also necessary to avoid all manifestations of "crabs relying on their claws, fish relying on their fins", acting not for the common interests of the Party, the country, the people but only for the selfish local interests of their own ministries, branches, agencies and individuals. Our people are very perceptive, always clearly distinguishing between good and bad, true and false. Cadres and Party members need to clearly understand that: The unparalleled strength of our Party and our country is thanks to the people's trust in the Party and the State, thereby uniting the entire nation and the entire people. Fourthly, it is necessary to clearly understand the value of political stability for the development of the country; from there, in every word and action, we should be very careful to avoid creating adverse impacts. Fifthly, do not view, do not believe, do not spread information on the websites of hostile and reactionary forces, information that has not been verified.

It must be affirmed that political stability is a valuable asset for national development. However, political stability is not a natural resource but is due to the Party's leadership capacity and prestige. Therefore, each cadre and Party member must be clearly aware of this issue in order to take the right action to maintain political stability for the country's sustainable development and for the happiness of the people./.
