During the fierce war years, the army and people of Phu Xuyen district focused on economic recovery and development, while unanimously supporting human and material resources to the large frontline with the spirit of "Not a pound of rice is missing, not a soldier is missing", "All to defeat the American invaders". In particular, the cadres and people of Phu Xuyen contributed to the victory of "Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the air" in December 1972.

Continuing that heroic tradition, the armed forces of Phu Xuyen district have constantly trained, matured, and actively contributed to the cause of national unification. In times of peace , the armed forces of the district continue to play a core role in building a national defense, consolidating defense zones, and building a solid people's position.

The meeting was an opportunity for the Party Committee, government and people of Phu Xuyen district to express their deep gratitude for the great contributions and sacrifices of generations of veterans, former youth volunteers and former People's Police in the cause of national liberation. This was also an opportunity to review the heroic history,educate the tradition of patriotism and revolutionary spirit for the younger generation to continue building Phu Xuyen homeland to become increasingly rich, civilized and modern.

At the meeting, Deputy Secretary of Phu Xuyen District Party Committee Nguyen Manh Huy emphasized that the delegates attending today are typical examples of the generation who are ready to sacrifice their youth and blood for national independence and the happiness of the people. Having been trained and matured in the revolutionary environment, many comrades have become high-ranking officials in the Army and Police, taking on important responsibilities in Party and State agencies.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee was moved to note that, despite having retired, many comrades still maintained their revolutionary qualities, enthusiastically participated in local work, and made important contributions to the cause of building and developing their hometown Phu Xuyen and the capital Hanoi.

On this occasion, comrade Nguyen Manh Huy expressed his deep gratitude to the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, wounded and sick soldiers, families of martyrs, people with revolutionary contributions, veterans, former youth volunteers, former People's Police - those who have devoted their youth and lives to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee hopes that comrades will continue to spread revolutionary ethics and exemplary pioneering qualities; impart experience, educate and support the young generation to firmly and confidently follow the glorious tradition of the Capital's armed forces in the new era.
