Deep friendship and cooperation between the two capitals of Hanoi and Vientiane

VOV.VN - Within the framework of his visit and work in Laos, this afternoon (September 17), Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh met and worked with Secretary of the Vientiane City Party Committee Anouphap Tounalom and Mayor of Vientiane Capital Athsaphangthong Siphandone.

At the meeting, the two sides reviewed the cooperation results between the two localities in the past time on the basis of implementing the Cooperation Agreement between the Party Committee and Government of Hanoi Capital and the Party Committee and Government of Vientiane Capital for the period 2022 - 2025.

The two sides affirmed that the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two capitals has always been nurtured and continuously developed, achieving comprehensive results.

In particular, from the comprehensive and effective implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation, up to now, 09 professional agencies of the two capitals have proactively signed the Memorandum of Cooperation in professional fields to exchange, share experiences and support each other in professional activities;

In addition, the two capitals have implemented many new forms of professional cooperation such as: Seminars to share experiences on People's Council work, exchange cooperation in the field of Party inspection; Organizing forums on investment, trade and tourism cooperation in both cities, sending delegations to attend fairs and festivals... It can be said that the cooperation results between Hanoi and Vientiane continue to be one of the vivid evidences reflecting the imprint of the special traditional friendship between Vietnam and Laos from the perspective of local cooperation. The two sides also informed each other about the socio-economic development situation of each capital such as: import and export continued to grow positively; cultural and social fields continued to develop or about attracting FDI investment...

As the capital, Hanoi and Vientiane continue to be exemplary, leading in local-level cooperation activities, closely coordinating, exchanging information, experiences, cooperating, and helping each other in all fields, striving for cooperation achievements to be increasingly commensurate with the stature of the special Vietnam-Laos relationship, as well as the expectations of the leaders and people of the two countries.
