Quang Nam hosted the first scientific conference of the Southern Orthopedic Trauma Network

(QNO) - The 27th Southern Regional Orthopedic Trauma Network Scientific Conference will be held in Quang Nam on June 7.

The event was organized by Quang Nam General Hospital in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Orthopedic and Trauma Hospital. This is the first time Quang Nam province has hosted a regional medical science conference.

The event gathered nearly 500 delegates including doctors, experts, and leaders of major hospitals across the country, with the participation and professional reports from many leading names in the orthopedic trauma industry.

This is an opportunity for medical staff to exchange and share clinical experiences, update knowledge and new techniques in diagnosis and treatment of bone and joint diseases, fractures, reconstructive surgery and rehabilitation.

Dr. Pham Ngoc An - Director of Quang Nam General Hospital - emphasized: "Being selected as the host is not only an honor for the province's health sector, but also an important step forward in integration, improving professional quality, contributing to the development of specialized healthcare in the locality."

The conference program includes many professional reporting sessions, presenting 21 diverse topics from hospitals in and outside the region such as Quy Hoa Central Hospital, People's Hospital 115, Hanoi E Hospital, Central Highlands General Hospital, Tien Giang General Hospital...

The conference focuses on advanced surgical techniques such as knee and hip replacement, complex trauma treatment, application of 3D printing technology in orthopedic surgery and minimally invasive treatment methods.

In particular, the conference was also an opportunity to introduce the formation and development process of the Trauma - Burns - Rehabilitation Center of Quang Nam General Hospital - a unit that has made many efforts in accessing high technology and providing intensive care for patients in the Central region.

Not only academic activities, delegates also had the opportunity to visit and experience Quang Nam culture and tourism such as Hoi An Ancient Town heritage, My Son Temple Complex and enjoy local specialties.

At the end of the conference, the Organizing Committee will hand over the Flag to host the 28th Conference in 2026 to Tien Giang Provincial General Hospital - the unit that will continue to organize this event next year.

Organizing a large-scale specialized conference for the first time, Quang Nam General Hospital hopes to affirm its increasingly solid position on the medical map of the Central region and the whole country.
