This is an activity within the framework of the first Quang Nam tourism promotion event held in India from September 12 to 16.
The program was attended by leaders of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, representatives of the Quang Nam Tourism Association and 8 travel and tourism businesses in the province. On the Indian side, there were 80 representatives from organizations, tourism agencies, airlines, etc.
Notably, the event was also attended by leaders of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), leaders of Indian media agencies, 15 Indian filmmakers and Bollywood actors, and about 130 representatives of Indian travel companies.
The program also aims to create opportunities for tourism businesses in Quang Nam and India to meet and connect for cooperation. At the same time, it will strengthen communication, promote the image, introduce destinations, tourism products and services of Quang Nam to tourism businesses, press agencies, and partners in India.
The main content of the program includes introducing destinations, updating information, new tourism products, green tourism of Quang Nam; screening films, displaying images of culture, tourism, OCOP products. In addition, there is a space organized in the form of B2B for tourism businesses to approach, exchange, introduce information, offer tourism products and services and sign cooperation agreements, develop markets with partners.

The program also includes dissemination of policies on flight route exploitation, signing of cooperation agreements on tourism development between the Quang Nam Tourism Association and the Indian Association of Travel Agents (IATO), between Quang Nam and Indian tourism businesses, etc.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Van Ba Son, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province, said the reason Quang Nam chose Mumbai as the main market for the international tourism market is because in recent years the number of Indian tourists to Vietnam has increased.
In the first 6 months of 2023, the total number of Indian tourists to Quang Nam was about 25,000, ranking in the top 10 largest international tourist markets. Vietnam and India have many similarities in culture and religion, which is a great advantage for developing tours and tourism products, especially cultural tourism.
Introducing and promoting Quang Nam tourism in India
Mr. Son said that this cooperation program will open a new chapter in tourism cooperation between Quang Nam, tourist destinations in the central region of Vietnam and Mumbai, India.
At the event, the Quang Nam Tourism Association and the Indian Tourism Association also signed a cooperation agreement on tourist exchange in the coming time. Quang Nam tourism enterprises and Indian event companies also signed a cooperation agreement on supporting in the field of promoting Quang Nam tourism through press and film communication activities.
It is expected that after the promotion program in India, Quang Nam tourism industry will continue to organize promotion activities in Singapore and Malaysia markets next October.
