Quang Nam surpassed the milestone of welcoming 8 million visitors in 2024, surpassing the record of 7.8 million in 2019.
On December 20, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province, announced the outstanding achievements of the province's tourism industry in 2024. According to him, Quang Nam tourism has achieved and exceeded the set goals, continuing the growth momentum from 2023.
According to data from the Department, the total number of visitors and tourists staying in Quang Nam is estimated to reach more than 8 million, an increase of 14% over the same period in 2023 and exceeding the plan by 6%. Of which, international visitors accounted for 5.5 million, while domestic visitors reached more than 2.5 million.

Revenue from tourism is estimated at VND9,200 billion, up 19% over the previous year. Social income from tourism is estimated at VND21,620 billion. The top 10 international tourist markets with the highest number of stays in Quang Nam include: South Korea, Taiwan (China), Australia, UK, France, USA, Germany, Malaysia, China and Spain.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong emphasized: "This is the first year that Quang Nam tourism has surpassed the 8 million visitor mark, surpassing the record of 7.8 million in 2019. This result shows that Quang Nam tourism has recovered and entered a new growth period."
Quang Nam has also received many international titles and awards. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism was honored as "Asia's Leading Local Tourism Management Agency" at the World Travel Awards.
Hoi An City was recognized as "Asia's Leading Cultural City Destination 2024", and Tra Que Vegetable Village was recognized as "Best Tourist Village" in 2024 by the United Nations Tourism Organization.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong affirmed: "This will be a solid foundation for Quang Nam tourism to develop in the coming time and attract more domestic and international tourists."
However, he also acknowledged that the tourism industry still faces many challenges such as economic recession, climate change, and fierce competition from other destinations in the region and domestically. Difficulties in organizing business activities and product development are also issues that need to be addressed.
