Mr. Nguyen Hai Truong, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks, said that Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed two decisions, including Decision 1455/QD-TTg approving the investment policy of the Dung Quat Southeast New Urban Area Project - North and Decision 1456/QD-TTg approving the investment policy of the Dung Quat Southeast New Urban Area Project - South.
According to the decision, the Dung Quat Southeast New Urban Area Project - North has a total area of about 1,320 hectares; the number of houses including villas and townhouses is about 1,668 units; 18-hole golf course; population of nearly 86,000 people; land fund for social housing development is nearly 31 hectares. The total investment capital of the project is more than 27 trillion VND, including compensation and resettlement support costs.
The Southeast Dung Quat New Urban Area Project - South has a total area of 1,377 hectares; the number of houses includes villas, 935 townhouses; 18-hole golf course; population of about 68.7 thousand people; land fund for social housing development of more than 24 hectares. The total investment capital is more than 27 trillion VND including compensation, support and resettlement costs.
Both projects will start in 2023 and end in 2037. The project's operating period will not exceed 70 years from the date the investor is granted a decision on land allocation, land lease, and land use purpose change. Both projects must be bid to select investors according to current regulations. At the same time, the location of these two projects is in the coastal border area, so foreign organizations and individuals are not allowed to own houses in the project.
Investing in the construction of 2 new urban areas with synchronous technical infrastructure and social infrastructure systems; commercial housing areas; systems of parks, squares, urban trees; services, resort tourism, tourist accommodation facilities, golf courses, theme parks, theme parks... to serve residential units and urban areas. At the same time, investing in these 2 urban areas aims to form a dynamic and modern coastal urban area, promoting the socio-economic development of Quang Ngai province in general and Dung Quat Economic Zone, Binh Son urban area in particular, contributing to effectively exploiting the land fund of the area.
According to the approval decisions, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha assigned Quang Ngai province to carry out a number of tasks, including implementing two projects to ensure compliance with the planning levels approved by competent authorities. At the same time, comply with the provisions of the law on investment, land, construction, and real estate business.
These two decisions also clearly state that the organization and implementation of the investment policy of the two above-mentioned projects must be agreed upon by the Standing Committee of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee (new) after the merger in accordance with the provisions of law. The Ministry of Finance shall guide and inspect the selection of investors to implement the project to ensure compliance with the provisions of law...
These are two projects included in the 1/2000 scale construction zoning plan of the Southeast Dung Quat Urban and Service Area approved by the Provincial People's Committee and announced in January 2025.
