Quang Ninh promotes cruise tourism, welcoming nearly 50,000 visitors in the first 6 months of the year

(PLVN) - In the first 6 months of 2025, Quang Ninh province welcomed 35 international cruise ships, bringing nearly 50,000 visitors to visit and experience, an increase of 25% over the same period last year. This is a positive signal for the local tourism industry, especially in the context of the peak cruise tourism season usually lasting from September to April of the following year.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh, the number of international tourists comes from many key markets such as the US, Germany, UK, France, Japan, China and some other European countries. Cruise tourists' journey to explore Quang Ninh is very diverse: From admiring the majestic beauty of Ha Long Bay, exploring modern Ha Long city, experiencing coastal cuisine, enjoying services at high-class resorts, to cultural tourism in Yen Duc village (Dong Trieu city), where many traditional cultural features of ethnic minorities are preserved.

Notably, despite being in the summer - not the peak season for cruise tourism - Quang Ninh still continuously welcomes large cruise ships, affirming the growing attraction of this locality to international tourists.

It is expected that on June 10, Ha Long International Passenger Port will welcome the luxury cruise ship Piano Land, bringing 1,000 tourists from Hong Kong, China to the port.

Maintaining regular cruises throughout the year not only helps Quang Ninh's tourism industry grow steadily but also contributes significantly to realizing the goal of welcoming 4.5 million international visitors in 2025. This is the foundation for Quang Ninh to continue affirming its position as a leading destination on the cruise tourism map of the Asian region.
