Tran Van Trung, Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Ninh district, said that currently, in the district, there are more than 150 hectares of rice affected by pests (infected with brown spot, leaf blast disease, white-backed planthoppers, etc.) and rats. The rice areas affected by pests and rats are most concentrated in the communes of Tan Ninh, Vinh Ninh, An Ninh, Truong Xuan, etc.
It is forecasted that in the coming time, rats and rice blast, brown spot, and yellow leaf diseases will continue to arise and cause damage. In order for rice plants to grow well and minimize damage caused by rats and pests, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh district has directed localities to strengthen field inspections, proactively detect and prevent pests in a timely manner; mass organizations coordinate with villages and cooperatives to catch rats to limit the occurrence and damage caused by rats. The Department of Agriculture and Environment actively inspects, estimates, forecasts promptly, and guides people on effective measures to prevent rats and rice blast.
