Quang Ninh established 5 regional general hospitals in Dong Trieu, Quang Yen, Van Don, Tien Yen, and Mong Cai.

In order to consolidate and streamline the organizational structure and improve the operational efficiency of public service units in the Quang Ninh health sector, the Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decisions (No. 3890 to 3899/QD-UBND) on the establishment, reorganization and dissolution of a number of public health units, officially effective from November 1, 2025.

Doctors and nurses at Tien Yen and Binh Lieu Medical Centers coordinated to successfully save the life of a patient with a critical traumatic brain injury thanks to the timely activation of the "inter-hospital red alert" system on the evening of October 11, 2025.

Specifically: The Provincial People's Committee has made decisions on the establishment of 5 regional general hospitals: Dong Trieu, Quang Yen, Van Don, Tien Yen, Mong Cai; the establishment of Quang Ninh Social Assistance Center; and the establishment of commune and ward health stations in special zones in the province.

The Provincial People's Committee also decided to reorganize the Lung Hospital under the Department of Health on the basis of merging Ha Long Medical Center into the Lung Hospital; reorganize the Provincial General Hospital under the Department of Health on the basis of merging Ha Long General Hospital into the Provincial General Hospital; and decided to dissolve Cam Pha Medical Center.

The above decisions are specific steps in the overall project to rearrange and reorganize the health system of Quang Ninh province according to the two-level local government model, aiming to streamline the focal points, improve the effectiveness of state management and maximize the capacity of the grassroots health care team.

The Department of Health reviewed the organization and medical human resources arrangement at Dong Trieu Medical Center on October 22, 2025.

To ensure that the arrangement is carried out in accordance with regulations, the Department of Health has issued Decision No. 2135/QD-SYT (October 20, 2025) on the establishment of 3 inspection teams to reorganize the apparatus and human resources of medical facilities according to the 2-level local government model. According to the plan, from October 22 to 28, the inspection teams will work at 16 medical units including hospitals and medical centers in localities such as Dong Trieu, Quang Yen, Mong Cai, Tien Yen... The inspection results will be an important basis for the Department of Health to complete the report, submit it to the Provincial People's Committee for approval, ensuring smooth and effective operation from November 1, 2025.

The Department of Health also issued Decision No. 5000/QD-SYT (October 17, 2025) on stopping the operation of a number of medical facilities in the province after the rearrangement. Accordingly, a number of medical facilities in the province will cease operations from November 1, 2025, including: 2 General Clinics (Ha Long Medical Center, Cao Xanh Regional General Clinic), 1 Specialized Clinic (Cam Pha Medical Center), 26 Medical Stations (Cam Thach, Cam Tay, Cam Thanh, Cam Thinh, Bach Dang, Ha Phong, Hong Ha, Cao Thang, Hung Dao, Trang An, Kim Son, Yen Duc, Nam Khe, Quang Trung, Cai Rong, Binh Dan, Co To, Yen Giang, Tan An, Yen Hai, Ka Long, Binh Ngoc, Vinh Trung, Dong Hai, Tien Yen, Ba Che).

This is a step to realize the spirit of Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo on "Strengthening the work of protecting, caring for and improving people's health in the new situation", affirming Quang Ninh's determination in innovating the management model, synchronous investment, developing a comprehensive, sustainable and people-centered health system.
