National Assembly approves more than 122,000 billion VND for cultural development

According to the program, by 2030, the cultural sector will have clear breakthroughs with 100% of provinces and cities having cultural centers, 80% of districts having standard cultural and sports centers. 95% of special national monuments and 70% of national monuments will be restored.

The cultural industry contributes 7% to GDP, creating many jobs and incomes for the people. Every year, Vietnam will participate in at least 5 major international cultural events.

By 2035, cultural indicators will achieve significant achievements. 100% of localities will incorporate moraleducation into clan and community conventions. 100% of special national monuments and 80% of national monuments will be restored.

The cultural industry will contribute 8% of GDP. Each year, Vietnam will have at least 10 national cultural and artistic works and participate in 6 major international cultural events.

The National Assembly finalized the total capital for cultural development in the 2025-2030 period at a minimum of VND122,250 billion, including VND77,000 billion from the central budget, VND30,250 billion from the local budget, and VND15,000 billion from other sources.

During the operation, the Government continues to balance the central budget to prioritize additional support for the program in accordance with actual conditions and has solutions to mobilize legal capital sources for implementation.

Building Vietnamese cultural centers abroad

One of the specific policies stated in the resolution is to allow investment in the construction of Vietnamese cultural centers abroad. The National Assembly Standing Committee believes that this is consistent with the Party and State's policies, implementing the Foreign Cultural Strategy and meeting practical requirements.

The Government will build the centers in order of priority, ensuring feasibility and efficiency. The organization and operation mechanism of the centers will be perfected, suitable to the characteristics of each locality, to optimize resources and achieve the set goals.

The National Target Program on Cultural Development for the 2025-2035 period aims to create a strong and comprehensive transformation in cultural development and to build and perfect personality, ethical standards, identity, mettle, and the system of values of Vietnamese people and families.

Through this program, the cultural sector expects the State to focus on key, quality, and effective investments in cultural development, directly contributing to socio-economic development, promoting cultural industries to become important components of the national economy.
