By the end of October 2025, the province's total export turnover grew strongly, estimated at more than 5.9 billion USD, equal to 73.3% of the yearly plan, clearly reflecting the efforts of the business community to recover and expand the market after a period of being heavily impacted by the decline in global orders. In the export structure, the foreign-invested enterprise sector (FDI) continues to play a leading role, accounting for more than 70% of the total turnover; but it is worth noting that the domestic enterprise sector also had a significant breakthrough with a growth rate of over 22% over the same period. From key industries such as garments, footwear, cement, to processed agricultural, forestry and fishery products, Thanh Hoa 's goods are increasingly asserting their competitiveness with quality, design and the ability to meet international standards.

One of the typical bright spots is 888 Company Limited, Quang Ngoc Commune, a large-scale FDI enterprise specializing in the production of garments and sports shoes for export to the US, EU and Asian markets. 888 Company Limited has invested in a modern production line system, applying high automation technology to meet the strict standards of international brands. In just 9 months of 2025, the enterprise's export turnover reached more than 600 million USD, an increase of nearly 15% over the same period in 2024, contributing positively to the overall export growth of the province.

The company representative said that Thanh Hoa has a strategic location, convenient for connecting with major seaports and airports, helping to significantly reduce logistics costs and freight transport time. Along with that, the support of local authorities in infrastructure investment, administrative procedure reform and labor training support has created favorable conditions for businesses to expand production scale, increase the number of orders and diversify export markets.

Besides the FDI enterprises, the domestic enterprises of Thanh Hoa are also asserting their increasingly solid position in the export sector. A typical example is Sao Khue Trading Joint Stock Company - a business that has been steadfastly pursuing the direction of increasing the value of Thanh Hoa rice for many years, gradually bringing high-quality rice products to the world market. Instead of focusing only on the commercial stage, the company has proactively invested in raw material areas, built a production - processing - packaging chain according to international standards, meeting the strict requirements of demanding markets such as Japan, Korea and some European countries.

In 2025 alone, the company has boosted export activities, with the output of processed rice for export increasing by nearly 20% compared to the previous year, with revenue from foreign markets accounting for an increasingly large proportion of the total business structure. This shows the company's sustainable shift from raw to refined exports, contributing to increasing the value of local agricultural products.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Duong, Deputy Director of Sao Khue Trading Joint Stock Company, shared: “In order for Thanh Hoa rice to stand firm in the international market, we not only focus on quality but also have to meet the criteria of food safety, traceability and sustainability in production. Thanks to the support of the provincial government in trade promotion, support for export procedures and connecting with partners, businesses have more opportunities to expand the market, affirming the Vietnamese rice brand on the global export map.”

Not only the two enterprises mentioned above, Thanh Hoa's export picture in 2025 will also have the contribution of many other key industries such as cement, chromium ore, seafood, textiles, mechanics... The agricultural - forestry - fishery group achieved an estimated turnover of about 450 million USD, up 12%; the processed industrial group reached more than 4 billion USD, up nearly 20% over the same period. Notably, in addition to traditional markets such as the US, EU, Japan, and South Korea, many enterprises in the province have proactively expanded to potential markets such as the Middle East, South America, and Africa - markets that are assessed to have a lot of room for development but require flexibility and understanding of specific trade characteristics.

The impressive export results in recent times are the result of the resonance between the efforts of enterprises and the accompanying policies of the province. Thanh Hoa has focused on investing heavily in logistics infrastructure, especially promoting the advantage of Nghi Son deep-water port - an important gateway connecting goods from the North Central region to the world. Administrative procedure reform has been promoted, helping to shorten customs clearance time and reduce transportation costs. At the same time, international trade promotion programs have been implemented systematically, supporting enterprises to participate in many major fairs in Germany, Japan, UAE... contributing to expanding the network of partners and improving the ability to access global markets.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Thanh Hoa, the province's export development goal in the coming time will not only focus on increasing the scale and turnover, but more importantly, on improving the quality and added value of products. The province aims to encourage businesses to invest in technological innovation, build and develop their own brands, gradually shift from processing methods to self-designing and developing products with high intellectual content and competitiveness. Along with that, departments and branches will continue to support businesses in updating market information, training high-quality human resources, promoting digital transformation in production and management, creating a solid foundation for businesses to improve their competitiveness in the international market.

These results and orientations are of particular importance in the context of Thanh Hoa entering a new development phase in the spirit of the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030. One of the key goals is: Building Thanh Hoa into a major center of processing and manufacturing industry in the North Central region, promoting the export of high-quality goods and services, sustainable development and deep integration with the world economy.

To realize that goal, the province determined to continue promoting advantages in infrastructure, geographical location and human resources, while promoting innovation, improving the capacity of domestic enterprises, creating a strong shift from "expanding scale" to "enhancing value" in export activities.

In the context of the world economy still having many fluctuations, “going out to sea” is not only a slogan but has become a concrete action of hundreds of Thanh Hoa enterprises. With a strong internal strength, sharp market thinking and the support of the government, Thanh Hoa goods are confidently going further on the integration journey, making an important contribution to making Thanh Hoa a new growth pole of the region and the whole country.
