On May 23, the Provincial People's Committee held its regular meeting for May, chaired by Comrade Nguyen Huong Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

In the first 5 months of the year, the socio -economic situation has shown initial signs of recovery: Trade and service activities have developed well, retail sales of goods and services increased by 22% over the same period in 2022; tourism revenue increased nearly 2 times, the number of visitors increased by 86%; passenger transport increased by 77%, freight transport increased by 33%. Investment promotion and business development activities continued to be promoted, FDI attraction increased 2.5 times in newly licensed projects and 4.7 times in registered capital; the number of newly established enterprises increased by 25.2%, the total registered capital increased nearly 2 times. Improving the investment and business environment, administrative reform continued to achieve high efficiency, Bac Ninh ranked 7th in the country in terms of Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), 3rd in terms of Provincial Green Index (PGI). As of May 18, the whole province has disbursed 981 billion VND (including 173 billion VND from land use revenue), reaching 15.3% compared to the capital allocated in detail by the People's Committees of 3 levels: province - district - commune to each project, of which the provincial budget reached 8%; district and commune budgets reached 54.9%. The cultural and social fields have received attention and direction; social security work has been ensured. The meeting focused on discussing and proposing solutions for socio-economic development in the last months of the year. In particular, it is necessary to drastically clear the land, invest in infrastructure, industrial zones and clusters. Continue to innovate investment promotion work; promote and attract diversified investors to industrial zones and urban areas; promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles to soon complete the infrastructure of concentrated industrial zones and industrial clusters according to the planning; work with large corporations and enterprises to adjust production plans, product and goods lists in the short, medium and long term. Promote the construction of advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas; focus on investing in small-scale projects but with large spillover effects and high efficiency to stimulate growth in public investment. Pay attention to directing and removing difficulties in the agricultural sector, expanding programs and projects related to agricultural and rural development, creating a solid and stable foundation for people's livelihoods, striving to avoid negative growth in the agricultural sector. Review policies on land rent exemption and reduction for subjects affected by the COVID-19 pandemic; manage, exploit, and nurture revenue sources and budget revenue potential well; promptly and effectively manage the local budget in 2023; proactively balance resources for development investment...

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huong Giang assessed that the socio-economic development situation in the last months of the year still has many difficulties. Therefore, sectors and localities need to be ready and prepare to welcome the trends of shifting investment capital flows, thereby drastically implementing breakthrough solutions to complete the economic growth plan in 2023. Continue to complete the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030; adjust the Bac Ninh Urban Master Plan to 2045. Focus on researching and effectively implementing the Central Government's policies and guidelines; strengthen inspection, remove difficulties, promote the effectiveness of working groups and delegations to speed up disbursement progress; pay attention to effectively implementing site clearance work. Effectively and on schedule implement the overall environmental protection project. Strengthen regional cooperation and linkage and proactively integrate comprehensively and deeply into the international community. Promote potential strengths to attract economic resources, investment capital, and human resources; create a driving force for comprehensive development of the province's socio-economic sectors.

Regarding the results of building a “Traffic Safety Province”, all levels, sectors and localities thoroughly grasped and effectively implemented the Resolutions and Plans of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee; integrated activities to ensure traffic order and safety with professional tasks and socio-economic development goals of the locality. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee commended the sectors, units and localities that have done a good job in building a "Traffic Safety Province", and agreed on the content of the 6 sets of criteria presented by the Provincial Police. Including: Traffic safety communes, wards and towns; Traffic safety agencies, units and schools; Traffic safety industrial parks, industrial clusters and craft villages; Traffic safety enterprises; Traffic safety self-managed routes; Traffic safety families, clans, religious establishments.
