Responding to the Departure Ceremony of the Vietnam Sports Delegation, and at the same time to promptly encourage and motivate the coaches and athletes training at the Center before leaving with the Vietnam Sports Delegation to attend the 32nd SEA Games, with the approval of the leaders of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, the Ho Chi Minh City National Sports Training Center in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City University of Sports and Physical Education organized the ceremony "Meeting the coaches and athletes training at the Center to attend the 32nd SEA Games, in Cambodia in 2023".

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training Tran Duc Phan said: “At the 32nd SEA Games, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation strives to achieve the target of 100 to 120 gold medals, being in the top 3 leading delegations. This is a goal that is suitable for Vietnamese sports today. However, the 32nd SEA Games promises to be a difficult tournament for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation. However, the good thing about Vietnamese coaches and athletes is that whenever they encounter difficulties, they show their efforts to overcome difficulties, demonstrating the Vietnamese spirit to bring home high achievements. Therefore, at the upcoming tournament, I believe that the coaches and athletes of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the Vietnamese Sports Delegation in general will compete with a spirit of confidence, strength, striving, promoting their full potential, strengths and surpassing themselves to achieve the highest achievements for Vietnamese sports”.

At the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City National Sports Training Center Pham Thanh Tu briefly reported on the Center's preparation process from the past to the present: "According to Decision No. 1003/QD-BVHTTDL dated April 17, 2023 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the establishment of the Vietnam Sports Delegation to participate in the 32nd SEA Games, the Ho Chi Minh City National Sports Training Center will participate in the 32nd SEA Games with 221 members, including 3 officials, 44 coaches and 174 athletes, competing in 20 sports. With the attention of the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the leaders of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training and the functional Departments, the Center has organized a meeting to review the 2023 Training Plan for the teams, to grasp the Training Plan as well as the plans to participate in tournaments during the year of the teams".

The Center's coaches and athletes received great encouragement before leaving for their mission.

Mr. Pham Thanh Tu added: "To improve the effectiveness of training, the Center regularly organizes inspections, analysis, appraisals, and evaluations of the training levels of the teams according to the training cycle, and coordinates with the teams to develop scientific training plans that are suitable for the level and goals of each athlete, to evaluate the results of training and practice in order to best prepare for the 32nd SEA Games. The Center coordinates with the functional Departments of the General Department to propose to the General Department's leaders to send excellent athletes for training and competition to improve their professional qualifications, accumulate experience, and competition mentality for the athletes. In the past time, the Center's coaching team and athletes have overcome all difficulties, with determination and high will, and are ready to participate in the 32nd SEA Games to achieve the highest results."

On behalf of the athletes of the Ho Chi Minh City National Sports Training Center attending the 32nd SEA Games, athlete Nguyen Hoai Van of the track and field team said: “Today, I am very honored to stand here representing the athletes attending the 32nd SEA Games. I promise to attend the congress with the spirit of solidarity, friendship and cooperation with international friends, always be united and demonstrate high discipline. I promise to compete confidently, wholeheartedly and creatively in each match, to win medals for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation, for the development of Vietnamese sports, for the glory of the Fatherland.”
