Award scholarships to students with excellent academic achievements
A 2022 study by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs found that up to 83% of new graduates lack important soft skills. For disadvantaged students, the 21st century question is not only the financial means to study, but also the skills and mindset needed in the modern working environment - something that rarely appears in scholarship programs.
CNCF's Christina Noble Education Program is a solution for 3rd and 4th year students or recent graduates from disadvantaged backgrounds. The program consists of 4 components to help them increase their competitiveness when entering the labor market: Providing financial support, courses to develop thinking and skills, supporting students with practical experience, and post-course support.
Notably, Fellowship (a course to foster thinking and skills) is an intensive 3-month (100-hour) course where students are exposed to innovative thinking and hone soft skills such as communication, collaboration, and problem solving, to help students learn how to regulate and balance work and life.
2023 marks the first year that CNCF has implemented this initiative with 60 students from partner universities from many different provinces and cities, with diverse majors and balanced opportunities for both men and women.
Speaking at the launch of the initiative held at the British Consulate General on the evening of October 27, Professor Scott Fritzen – President of Fulbright University Vietnam emphasized the importance of “inspiration” and efforts to turn dreams into reality. Always innovating in a practical way is also what he found in CNCF and highlighted the cooperation between the two organizations with the same mission and goals.
Also at the ceremony, the Christina Noble Children's Association signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Ho Chi Minh City National University and its member universities.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee awarded 93 scholarships to 60 students with excellent academic achievements at partner universities and previous tuition support programs of CNCF.
The Christina Noble Children's Foundation (CNCF) is an international non-profit organization operating in Vietnam since 1989. Through nearly 175 projects in education, health care and community development; CNCF's humanitarian services have created positive changes for more than 900,000 children and 1 million lives.
