Launching research book on the history of Vietnamese guns and ammunition

In addition to the untapped sources researched by author Dong Nguyen (Nguyen Ngoc Phuong Dong), the highlight of the book is dozens of large-scale paintings illustrated by artist Cao Viet Nguyen, based on historical documents and images of real artifacts.

Author Dong Nguyen is the co-founder of many groups and pages specializing in ancient history and culture (Dai Viet Co Phong, Vietnam Center), and was the editor of the book Weaving the Dynasty about the history of costumes in the first half of the Le So period; and Cao Viet Nguyen is a Latvian artist of Vietnamese origin, with a realistic style, specializing in illustrating historical periods, comics, and the fashion field.

Author Dong Nguyen said, Loi Dong, Tinh Phi answers questions like: "The Vietnamese knew how to use guns and bullets before Europe? What is Hiep Gun? Than Co Phao is not a type of cannon? Dang Ngoai is the origin of the fire tiger?"...

Notably, the book launch took place right after the opening of the exhibition on the Giang Vo Truong and the Le Dynasty weapons collection at the Hanoi Museum, including a collection of 111 weapons that are national treasures.

The book launch event was held on the sidelines of the exhibition, with the hope of arousing the interest of researchers, history enthusiasts and the public in the equipment and fighting tactics of our ancestors.
