Launch of Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness 2026 - Off-road SUV limited to 500 units

The Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness has just been launched in Japan. This is the first commercial vehicle in Japan to carry the Wilderness name and is quite different from the North American version.

Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness in Japan is limited to 500 units. The car has some exterior changes such as Deco-Boco Black paint covering the mirrors, side panels and cargo steps...

The car has a matte black grille, hood decal, darkened front and rear lights and mudguards with Wilderness logo on the rear. 17-inch alloy wheels with Toyo Open Country A/T III off-road tires, highlighted by white lettering on the sidewall.

However, this 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness off-road SUV does not have an upgraded suspension system, reinforced shock absorbers or large body panels like the Crosstrek Wilderness in the US.

The cabin remains the same as the standard Crosstrek, equipped with full LED lighting, power-adjustable and heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, roof rails, and an integrated navigation system.

Another significant difference lies in the powertrain. The Crosstrek Wilderness in Japan uses a 2.0L e-Boxer hybrid engine, providing 143 horsepower from the gasoline engine and an additional 13 horsepower from the electric motor.

Meanwhile, the US version uses a 2.5L engine with 182 horsepower. However, both are equipped with Subaru's symmetrical all-wheel drive system.

The Japanese version of the 2026 Crosstrek Wilderness will be sold by lottery and will only be available at dealers until November 30. Prices start at 4,055,920 yen (about 692.01 million VND) for the Touring version and 4,099,920 yen (equivalent to 699.52 million VND) for the Limited version.

On the other hand, the US version, Crosstrek Wilderness 2026 with muscular design, high chassis and separate suspension system is listed at a price from 33,795 USD (about 889.12 million VND).

The 2026 Crosstrek Wilderness SUV, the US version, clearly shows its different orientation: one side aims for the true spirit of adventure, while the other side retains the sophistication typical of the Japanese market.
