ABC News quoted FBI Director Kash Patel on October 31 as saying that the agency had thwarted a potential terrorist attack on Halloween in Michigan.
"Multiple individuals have been arrested for allegedly plotting violent attacks this Halloween," the FBI director said, adding that the plot was linked to "international terrorist organizations."

The FBI acted after undercover agents monitored online conversations of some of the suspects in a chat group.
The suspects had undergone weapons training, and law enforcement decided to act after the suspect mentioned "pumpkin day," which investigators believe was a reference to Halloween, the source said.
According to sources, the suspects are between 16 and 20 years old, three people have been taken in for questioning.
White House senior counterterrorism director Seb Gorka confirmed that the FBI had disrupted a "jihadist terrorist plot in Detroit."
"There is currently no threat to public safety," said a spokesman for the FBI's Detroit office.
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer said she was notified of the incident by the FBI and thanked law enforcement for their actions.
