A Hai Phong man was startled when he ran into a large wild animal listed in the Red Book in the garden.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hai Phong has just received a large python, a wild animal listed as endangered, precious, and rare in the Red Book. This large, rare wild animal suddenly crawled and strayed into a farmer in Tran Chau commune, Cat Hai district, Hai Phong.

According to information from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hai Phong , on January 12, Mr. Nguyen Hong Hai, a farmer in Ben village, Tran Chau commune, Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city, accidentally caught a giant python.

The context in which Mr. Hai caught this wild animal listed in the Red Book of reptiles was that, while cleaning the garden, Mr. Hai accidentally bumped into a large, long animal crawling into the house.

After a moment of shock and calm, Mr. Hai realized it was a huge python. He called on all the people around the village to catch it and hand it over to the An Hai Inter-District Forest Protection Department, Hai Phong City.

Immediately after receiving this rare wild animal, the An Hai Inter-District Forest Protection Department (Hai Phong City) identified this individual as a ground python, an animal listed in the Red Book.

The python has the scientific name: Python molurus, group IIB, belongs to the list of endangered, precious, and rare forest animals. The python Mr. Hai caught in his garden weighed 14 kg.

An Hai District Forest Protection Department has invited the Veterinary Department to check the animal's health, ensure its health and complete the documents according to regulations to release it into the natural environment.

The location for releasing this wild animal is at plot 5, sub-area 4 of the strictly protected subdivision of Cat Ba National Park, Hai Phong.

According to the An Hai Inter-District Forest Protection Department, the python is a native animal listed in the Red Book, living and distributed evenly in the communes and towns of Cat Ba Island. Releasing the python into the natural environment is suitable for the habitat and living environment of this reptile species.
