The ancient cassia trees standing tall along the highway leave everyone in awe. Many cassia trees have trunks so large in diameter that it takes 1 or 2 people to hug around them. Local people no longer remember exactly when this cassia forest was established. When they grew up, the cassia trees had grown tall, reaching up to the lush green sky.

In 2014, the People's Committee of Nghe An province put the Tam Dinh cassia forest on the list of strictly protected areas. The existence of this special forest not only creates a highlight for the tourism industry in the Western Nghe An region, but also the awareness and spirit of forest protection of the local people. The cassia forest is like a treasure of the local people.
