In recent years, the province has focused on promoting solutions to create a launching pad for local agricultural products, helping farmers increase product value and expand consumption markets.

Sustainable development orientation

Tay Ninh is gradually restructuring the agricultural sector towards modernity, sustainability, in line with natural conditions and market trends. The province has proactively transformed the structure of crops and livestock, promoting the application of high technology in production such as growing vegetables in greenhouses, cultivating according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards.

As one of the pioneering Vietnamese enterprises in the field of raising, slaughtering and processing chilled beef according to Australian standards, PACOW International Limited Company (located in Trang Bang town, Tay Ninh province) has invested in building a complete closed production chain "from farm to table", which is not only a big step forward in technology but also opens up stable job opportunities for hundreds of local workers.

Mr. Oan Loc Phen, Director of PACOW International Limited Liability Company, shared that the reason he chose Tay Ninh land to invest is because this land has abundant water and raw material resources; large land area, investment policies with many incentives, converging the factors of "heavenly time - favorable location - harmony of people". In order to ensure safety in meat production, the company has established a closed breeding and slaughtering process, from importing breeding cows, breeding, slaughtering and packaging finished beef products to supply to the market according to international standards.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Xuan, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tay Ninh province, said: One of the major turning points of the agricultural sector today is the change in farming mindset. Mr. Xuan cited that in the past, at agricultural exhibitions, most of the products introduced were mainly raw agricultural products such as cassava, or images of livestock and poultry, but now the trend has gradually shifted to processed products.

The increasing appearance of processed and preserved products using technologies such as vacuuming, drying, freezing, etc. is not only convenient for consumers but also easy to distribute to many different retail channels. In addition, many farming households and cooperatives are also cooperating with processing enterprises to create highly commercial products. All of this shows that producers have been more proactive in increasing the value of agricultural products, instead of just depending on market prices.

In addition, innovation is also clearly demonstrated through the strong application of modern machinery and technology in agricultural production. From automatic sprayers, fertilizer machines, to the use of biological products to support crops - all contribute to improving farming efficiency and reducing manual labor. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Xuan also emphasized that this is an important turning point, demonstrating a modern, professional and sustainable agricultural mindset - a key factor to enhance the value and competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products in the coming time.

Notably, Tay Ninh is attracting more and more strategic investors in the field of high-tech agriculture. Large corporations such as Hung Nhon, De Heus and Vinamilk have invested in large-scale projects, playing an important role in promoting digital transformation and improving the efficiency of agricultural production in the locality.

Focus on quality

Tay Ninh is currently actively building value chains from production to consumption, connecting farmers with businesses and cooperatives. Local specialties such as shrimp salt, sun-dried rice paper, and Ba Den custard apple have their own brands, present on e-commerce platforms and large supermarket chains. The province also implements the OCOP program, supporting the improvement of product quality and design, increasing competitiveness.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Xuan, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tay Ninh province, said that currently, tracing the origin of products and bringing goods to consumers quickly and transparently is becoming a goal that both people and agricultural production units are aiming for. In the context of strong development of 4.0 technology, the gap between producers and consumers is increasingly narrowing thanks to e-commerce platforms, online distribution channels and official booths in the digital environment.

According to Mr. Xuan, many manufacturers have proactively built websites and promoted their products on social networking sites, helping consumers easily access information about products, from types to prices. Vietnamese farmers are also increasingly sensitive and catching up with market trends, ready to change to adapt to modern sales methods.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ngan, General Director of Van Hoa Multimedia Limited Liability Company (Ward 2, Tay Ninh City), the unit operating the e-commerce platform cholonghoa.com, said: “Selling on e-commerce platforms brings clear results, helping businesses reach customers widely, save operating costs, promote products flexibly, and increase sales quickly. With modern consumption trends, online sales are becoming more and more popular, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, consumers have the habit of shopping online, creating conditions for businesses to develop sustainably.”

In particular, in the food sector – a sector directly related to consumer health – consumers are increasingly concerned about the origin of products, production processes and safety. Therefore, traceability becomes a key factor in enhancing trust. Each product is assigned a growing area code, a processing code and can be traced throughout the entire journey from farm to table. This not only helps consumers feel more secure when using it, but also creates conditions for state management agencies to easily monitor and intervene quickly in the event of a food safety incident.

Mr. Xuan also emphasized that modern consumption trends are promoting strong innovation in the agricultural sector and e-commerce is an effective bridge to help high-quality agricultural products get closer to the market, opening up sustainable development opportunities for farmers in the digital transformation period.

According to the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, Tay Ninh has established priority areas for high-tech agricultural development, and issued many preferential policies to attract businesses to invest and participate in building agricultural value chains. The goal for 2025 is to form 22 high-tech agricultural zones, including 12 crop growing zones, 7 livestock farming zones and 3 combined zones. Each production zone will be certified and develop at least one consumption linkage chain, contributing to increasing the proportion of agricultural, forestry and fishery products produced in the form of cooperation and linkage to over 25% in 2025 and 35% in 2030.
