Quang Ngai Countryside Colors: "Bringing Countryside to the City"

(Baoquangngai.vn)- In 2 days (January 12 - 13, 2024), at Dong Ho Garden, No. 195 - 197, Cao Thang extended street, Ward 12, District 10 ( Ho Chi Minh City), the first Quang Ngai Countryside program in Ho Chi Minh City will take place. Thus, in less than a month, the program will officially take place.

This is the first time the Quang Ngai Association in Ho Chi Minh City has coordinated with the Quang Ngai Business Club in Ho Chi Minh City and other clubs, including: Quang Ngai Returning to My Hometown Club, Love Connection Club, Quang Ngai Student Club in Ho Chi Minh City... to organize a large-scale festival program.

Since the press conference on November 15, the Organizing Committee has been racing against time, both raising funds and working with the art and culinary teams. Up to now, everything has been put into motion.

A music program with the theme “Singing with the homeland” will take place on the evening of January 12, directed by director Thai Huan, with the participation of many famous singers, such as: Ho Quynh Huong, Nguyen Phi Hung, Huynh Loi, Nguyen Han, Meritorious Artist Hong Van, Dinh Tham, Hanh Huyen… and the MC couple Vu Manh Cuong - Thanh Loan. The program promises to bring a truly grand and unique musical feast.

Throughout the program, in the restored festival space, artisans from Quang Ngai will perform unique folk performances, such as: singing bai choi, ho lo to, hat sac bua... Along with that, the culinary spaces are restored and serve traditional dishes with rich flavors of Quang Ngai countryside, such as: banh xeo, banh beo, ram corn, don, oc sut...

The interesting point of the program is that there will be a rural market recreated as a corner of the market in the hometown, selling many local dishes. Coming there, Quang Ngai people in Ho Chi Minh City will feel like returning home.

In the role of connecting and accompanying the Organizing Committee, Quang Ngai Newspaper will organize a photo exhibition with the theme "Quang Ngai, a hundred memories, a thousand loves", with the participation of famous photographers, such as: Nguyen Dang Lam, Bui Thanh Trung, Minh Thu, Tan Cu, Minh The, Alex Cao, Cao Thanh Binh, Doan Vuong Quoc, Hoang Yen, Nguyen Duc Minh, Tan Phat... Quang Ngai past and present, familiar and strange Quang Ngai, lyrical and modern Quang Ngai, each moment, each perspective from the art of photography will make us love our homeland more. Through this photo exhibition, the Organizing Committee also wants to introduce to domestic and international tourists about Quang Ngai with many famous landscapes and hospitality.

Not just images, right at Dong Ho Garden, there will be booths displaying Quang Ngai OCOP products. The most typical products of Quang Ngai, such as: Tra River goby fish, Mo Duc malt, Tra Bong cinnamon, Ly Son garlic... will be vivid stories told in this festival.

The highlight of the program is the 9-wheeled water wheel model, with a height of more than 2m, 9m long, made by artisan Mai Van Quyt, which will be displayed at the festival space. This is the connection between the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Tien Dung and the program's Organizing Committee. Although it is a model, with a scale of 1/5 compared to the legendary Tra River water wheel, the Organizing Committee still tries to restore and operate it like a real water wheel, so that people can see and recall beautiful images in their memories.

There is still a lot of work to be done from now until the event day, however, with the solidarity and unity of Quang Ngai compatriots, a unique and emotional cultural and culinary program promises to be successful and widespread.
