After a series of rumors, Korean technology giant Samsung sent out invitations on the evening of May 7 to launch a phone called Galaxy S25 Edge at the upcoming Unpacked event, which will be broadcast live at 7am on May 13 (Vietnam time).
"This is more than just an ultra-slim smartphone. Every curve, contour, and component reflects a breakthrough in precision engineering to create a premium experience worthy of the S series name. The Galaxy S25 Edge not only sets a new standard but also opens a new era of growth for the mobile industry," Samsung's event invitation emphasized.
CNET, citing leaker Evan Blass, said the S25 Edge will weigh 163 grams, be 5.8 mm thick, and have a titanium bezel, along with a Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 display. In terms of hardware, the device could be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

The specifications on the S25 Edge have not been announced, but according to GSMArena , the company's introduction content mentions "showcasing the ultimate camera experience" with a 200 MP main sensor like the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Meanwhile, The Verge revealed that the S25 Edge will likely be a more premium device than Apple's rumored ultra-thin phone. Specifically, the iPhone 17 Air will likely only have a single rear camera and a combination of features. In contrast, according to Samsung, the S25 Edge will combine "premium-level performance with superior mobility."
With Samsung set to launch the Galaxy S25 Edge in May, it will beat Apple to the punch in the race to launch an ultra-thin smartphone. According to MacRumors , the iPhone 17 Air, which is expected to be just 5.5mm thick, will have to wait until at least September to be introduced.
