Noi Bai Airport welcomes first flight connecting Hanoi-Africa

(Chinhphu.vn) - Noi Bai International Airport has just officially welcomed the first flight of Ethiopian Airlines, opening a new route directly connecting Hanoi (Vietnam) and Addis Ababa (Ethiopia).

This is the first time there has been a direct flight connecting Vietnam and Africa - a market full of potential and development opportunities.

Flight ET0678 landed safely at Noi Bai International Airport at 1:15 p.m. As soon as the plane rolled into the parking lot, a solemn water cannon salute was performed to celebrate.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Deputy Director of Noi Bai International Airport, said: This route not only significantly shortens travel time but also opens a strategic connection corridor between Southeast Asia and Africa, strongly promoting cultural exchange activities and economic and trade cooperation. She also expressed her joy when two units were honored by Skytrax: Ethiopian Airlines as "Best Airline in Africa" ​​and Noi Bai International Airport was in the "Top 100 best airports in the world". This is clear evidence of the increasingly affirmed position of Noi Bai International Airport.

As soon as the plane rolled into the parking lot, a solemn water cannon ceremony was performed to welcome it.

Ethiopian Airlines’ new route will be operated four times a week with the state-of-the-art Boeing 787-800 wide-body aircraft. The connection to Addis Ababa, the headquarters of the African Union, will not only provide passengers with easy access to Ethiopia, but also provide seamless connections to the airline’s extensive network across Africa, Europe and the Americas.

The opening of a direct flight from Hanoi to Addis Ababa is not only a connection between the two capitals, but also a bridge between Southeast Asia and more than 50 countries in the African region. The event will contribute to diversifying the flight network, improving competitiveness, and making Hanoi an important transcontinental trade hub in Southeast Asia.
