That is the assessment of the Vietnam Golf & Leisure Awards 2024 survey team during the survey at Royal Golf Course ( Ninh Binh ) invested by TC Group.
Royal Golf Course (also known as Royal Golf Course) is located on the land of the 1000-year-old ancient capital Hoa Lu, including a complex of two 18-hole golf courses - King Course, Queen Course. In which, Queen Course is a work bearing the mark of famous golf course designer Jack Nicklaus, with a very unique landscape of fairways interspersed between unique limestone outcrops.
The Queen Course's signature landscape is its pristine limestone outcrops.
From Hanoi , it took about 2 hours to drive for the survey team members to arrive at the Royal Golf Course and begin their golf “adventure” on the Queen Course – a beautiful new 18-hole golf course located in the middle of a stone forest.
With a total area of nearly 150 hectares, Queen Course was designed by Jack Nicklaus II and professionally supervised by Flagstick Company. With Zeon Zoysia grass for fairways and Primo Zoysia grass for greens, Queen Course was designed and constructed with the most modern techniques and technologies today by world- famous designer Donald Page. Right from the first golf holes, the survey team was very impressed with the lush green color of the grass on the course. It seemed as if there was no boundary between the tee box, fairway and green because everything seemed to blend together. Although the survey team came to survey after long days of storms and rain, the course was still very well maintained.
Very well maintained course, fast greens, smooth fairways all over.
The special feature of Queen Course is the original preserved limestone ranges, exposed on the ground during construction, creating a magnificent and magnificent scene in the middle of a large space. The golf course is cleverly designed, taking advantage of the available natural conditions, winding around the rock ranges, creating challenging and interesting trap points. Therefore, the golf courses of Queen Course are unique and different on each hole. With the dance of the thousand-year-old natural rock ranges, combined with the natural landscape of mountains, hills and lakes, creating a soft, sharp, unique and full of personality for each golf hole, just like the name "Queen Course".
The golf course is cleverly designed, taking advantage of the available natural conditions, winding around the rocky ranges.
Some holes on the course have split fairways that give you more options to go left or right. The bunkers are well placed and provide good aiming points from the tee box and there are some bunkers placed behind the greens to add more challenge to the players. The greens are a decent speed of 8, and are well shaped. The best part is at the rest stops, from the windy heights, you can comfortably look out over the golf holes you have just conquered. That is how you can see the masterful talent of the genius designer.
“There are few golf courses that can give you a feeling of both challenge and fun, suitable for golfers of all levels like here,” said former General Secretary of VGA, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Chu.
The golf courses at Queen's Course are unique and different on each hole.
One of the most special holes of Queen's course is Hole 4 par 5. This is a hole that is completely different from other golf holes. The characteristic of Queen's course is the rocky mountains, but when you come to hole 4, you will not be able to hide your surprise by the "extremely beautiful" beauty of this unique golf hole. On the left of the fairway is a clear blue lake, golfers can see schools of koi fish swimming around in the lake. Standing on the teeing area, players can stretch their chests to welcome the cool air from Yen Thang Lake. This is also the golf hole with the most bunkers on the course: There are five bunkers on the fairway and there is an OB on the right. On the green there are two bunkers in front and behind, the green slopes from back to front.
“The designs of the legendary Jack Nicklaus II are always extremely interesting, unique and different on each golf hole and this is what creates excitement and curiosity for us to explore. Each golf hole is a new experience, not boring at all.” – PGA BJ Song – a member of the jury from Korea excitedly shared.
Other plus points of the course include the friendly staff, enthusiastic and experienced caddies, beautiful clubhouse, good locker room and delicious local specialties... all contributing to creating an unforgettable golf experience for the group when coming to Royal Golf Course.
The course has a team of experienced caddies.
“Hidden among the millions of years old limestone mountains, it is easy to see that limestone is a feature of this golf course,” said Stephen Morgan, a member of the Survey Team. “On one hole, I was lucky enough to hit the limestone and the ball bounced back into the fairway, but I would not recommend you try that. For me, this is a course you must experience if you play golf in the North.”
